Microsoft. Richest company in the world cannot get enough. They've gotten so greedy over the years.

After speaking with a Activision representative, I was told that the reasoning behind doing an Xbox 360 and PC beta was primarily due to increased server and connectivity data.
“We are running the beta only on the Xbox 360 and PC,” said the representative. He continued then to point out that most betas on the PS3 are run by first party anyways, and if Treyarch runs their testing on the Xbox 360 and PC they acquire more data on servers and connectivity
Anyway, that's not what this topic is about so lets not go offtopic.

I've been playing close to all morning. If you registered on the official site you recieve the code.
Level design is pretty good, nice wide open, good hiding spots. If you're on a certain level when an artillery strike is called in, you can look out over the ocean and see the trails from the mortars-nice touch.
Weapons perform great, rifles are semi-auto meaning single shot, the 1st weapon challenge gets you a flash suppressor, 2nd challenge gets you an aperture sight, so basically some crosshairs and a little bit of zoom, third is a telescopic sight which has a striking resemblance to the ACOG scope.
Sniper Rifles are under the category of bolt action rifles. THe springfield comes automatically with a scope, the ariskana(?) does not, and unfortunately without a scope on the rifle it doesn't kill in 1 hit which is a little strange, but yet balanced. There is a bayonett for them after 50 kills for the Ariskana and after 25 for the Springfield, does good, can get a good attack in from double the distance, fend off the dogs, stab people in the back(oh so satisfying). So you'll have to shoot twice to take somebody down or put one in their head. The 3rd challenge gets you a noob tube like attatchment, I think its called a Rifle Grenade. It reloads quickly and has a big radius.
Sub Machine guns- Thompson and Mp44. Thompson can do some damage, the 1st challenge gets you a suppressor, the 2nd gets you an apeture sight, the 3rd is a Drum magazine, not sure as to how much it holds because I dont have it yet.
MGs, theres only 1, and when you ADS(aim down the sight) the mag taks up the right half of the screen (its a Type-99) It does drop people tho.
SHotguns- THere's a trench gun, and a locked Double Barrel. 1st challenge is a grip, not sure what the 2nd is.
NOw there is challenges for headshots but there is no camo from what I can tell so its a waste of time to aim for right now. There is a full set of Boot Camp Challenges which shouldn't take long to complete.
One one of the levels there is 2 tanks, the tanks move sluggish-liek a tank would be expected to move, reload varies, depending on if you have the VEhicle perk on.
Overall I give it a 8/10 for the experience, i saw a couple of glitches, but that's to be expected because its beta. The level cap is 11 for right now-Staff Sergent I, There are a few perks to chose from, the Icons have been changed. WHen you level up you hear a Marine DI saying "Atten-hut!" and tthe click of boot heels coming together, made me smile =) Particle effects are good, its running on the same engine as COD4 but seems to look a lot better... I'll probably come up with some criticizm later.
^ Aww man your so lucky us PS3 guys have to wait it is released but from what you said about the game gets me even more excited about it... too the people who think this game is going to fail THINK AGAIN people.
I'm sorry you have to wait =(
It is looking great so far, they need to take care of a few issues with Kill Cam on the dogs, it follows them at an angle but its kinda iffy. Another part is I saw a guy go prone and he had about a foot between his abdomen and the ground, but he was on an incline and that probably wasn't thought about. The dogs don't go in water, so that is a BIG PLUS, just sit and camp in the water, let the dogs pass, you're good. When you hear the artillery come in it's a scary thing, its like a low-mid pitched whistle and then explosions. When one goes off next to you, time "slows" and you can't sprint until it clears up. Uhh level design is good, like i said, some spaces wide open, some aren't. Better camoflage when sniping, some spots are just so good, you don't know the person is there until you watch the kill cam. The sniper scope is good, I wish the Crosshairs were a little bit thinner, but I can look past that.
Thats it for now, I'm going to "test" some more =) If any major issues come up I'll post it here.
I try =)
The spawn points aren't as numerous sometimes, I find that after I spawn there's either somebody in front of me, running away as THEY'VE just spawned, or there's somebody behind me because I just spawned in front of them. Somebody has already found a way to glitch out of the map Roundhouse(I dislike this map). People that use the Thompson have the biggest advantage it seems, its like a cross between the M16's power and the MP5's versatility, so watch out for those people.
If you use a bolt action rifle, be prepared, without a scope, unless you shoot shoulders or above it will not kill in 1 shot unless they were prevoiusly wounded. If you put a sniper scope on, you can shoot the person in the ass and they'll die, so I'm thinking they put a damage advantage or a higher multiplier on the sniper scopes even though it says it only improves range and accuracy. If you are going to use a bolt action without a scope, be prepared to shoot twice, or get in the habit of aiming for the neck...
It seems that the maps are all about camping, you can't really run n' gun and be ve succesful so find a spot, sit down, and be prepared to wait. Some spots are already widely known, so your best bet is to find an obvoius but hidden spot, the best ones are usually right in front of people's faces but if you run past you'll never suspect a thing.
