Pros:

- Graphics look very great

- Punkbuster is integrated

- Maps are small

- I really like the desert map in Baghdad or something like that

- Similar gameplay to CoD2

- Similar interface to CoD2

- New maps, new handling with it

- More recoil

Cons:

- shoot through walls (I find that a pro coming from CS lol)

- I'll miss the rifle

- I'm skeptical about using the perks

Never thought about it, but I do miss having the M1 Garand. In CoD2, that was my preferred rifle becuz the semi-fire and damage made it a cool sniping waepon for me.

The M4 and M16 are a bit similiar, but they're so jacked up with new things they are hardly anywhere similiar the M1 now. :cry:

I didnt realize it either, but a few of the perks in CoD4 can be combined or abused for lots of points despite the fact that a lot of ppl hate that kind of lame playing. Here are a few I noticed:
1) Frag x3, Sonic Boom, and Martydom. This combo allows a nade spamming playing style and especially effective with the Boom since it boosts explosive damage.

2) Overkill, Bandolier, and Steady Aim. Snipers benefit from this because then crouching gives unscoped weapons greater precision and makes them harder to hit, and they also can choose an auto for dealing with anyone who reaches their position. This alos works for ppl who can survive for long periods, becuz they can go g3/M16/sniper rifle and have another weapon for CQB work, like the M104 rapid-fire shotgun.

3) Bandolier, Stopping Power, and Deep Impact. Snipers benefit from this too. They gain lots of ammo, extra damage for their sniper rifles, and a means of hitting someone who ducks behind cover. Too easy, and with a long distance, the sniper has a serious advantgae.

Thankfully, these are very rare, but when they come, they're very irritating :evil:

I agree with it all but the con about shooting through walls..I find it very realistic and adds to the gameplay...

There is currently a mod in beta testing that uses the rifles from CoD2 to be used in CoD4, not tried it myself yet but sounds very interesting.

I am one of those who started with SOF, my son introduced me to the game, he made maps for SOF, our clan moved on to COD, then through COD2, and UO to COD 4,my son still makes maps, his name is lazygit, aka warmonger, I admit I am a COD fanatic, I love COD 4, and must have a game every night, my only complaint, is when I get kicked by PB ?, WHY ?, I never cheat, I am 71 years of age, I don't know enough about computers to cheat, I just like playing games, especially COD 4, I never complain about campers, snipers last stand or martyrdom, (although I never use them myself) they are all part of the game.
Because my reactions are slower than most younger players in the game, my favorite weapon is RPD, it helps me even up the odds, if you see the amount of times I get killed, you would see it ONLY evens me up, definitely doesn't give me advantage over the younger players, because their reactions are that much quicker.
My sons latest map is mp_Kh1, I think it is better than Killhouse, which I think is to small, mp_Kh1 is basically the single player SAS map opened out, making it a better map to play in, he is also working on another map at the moment, I don't know the name yet, what I would like to see, is the use of vehicles, like we had in United Offensive.
So guys if you see [GI]Highlander on your server, and I get kicked by PB, I can assure you, I am NOT CHEATING, its got to be for some obscure reason, it always is, LOL.
