Good list. I use Spybot S&D, AdAware, and AVG (sometimes)

Kapersky Antivirus is really good too.. finds everything. But you have to pay for that one

Good list. I work for a computer store and remove viruses from computers very often, most common fix. What i use to get rid of spyware/viruses is AVG Antivirus 8.0 (also have to pay but does a damn good job) and if spyware is still on there giving popups i use SpyBot. MANY people come in with viruses and have AV programs like Norton or McAfee and AVG finds about 300 viruses where Norton and McAfee finds nothing.

Also, if you're willing to pay a little, get Nod32.

You might want to try Comodo Firewall, i found this reviewed in a Freeware Magazine, i have tried it on my Vista PC and boy oh boy does this thing see everything.

It sees what programs uses what DLL's and even sees when programs uses the Monitor ! It really is good, you have many different modes you can run it on and comes with a Malware scanner.

I don't have any AV/Firewalls (besides the Windows Firewall) running all the time. (I just scan every once in a while just to make sure) Waste of resources if you always have it running.

Don't use Internet Explorer and go to stupid websites
