Best CG Program Out there...

I have looked around the forums for a while now and noticed that many of the users have some sort of pimped out images as a representation of themself or just for fun. Therefore I figured that there has to be someone that does their artwork him/herself.

I intend to work with games, maybe movies in the future and somehow figured that you should all post your favourite CG Program such as "Photoshop (CS4)" or "Autodesk Maya" and throw in one or two pics of something you have done...

It shouldn't be to hard for you to lacate the Artistic/Graphics section in our list on the Home page. Check out the stuff on there. PM our graphics guru Syndrome-X he's very receptive.

I am currently using Photoshop CS3. I have done over 100 graphics for users on this site. For more of my most recent work, take a look at my Deviant Art account (Links in my signature).

how much do these editing programs cost?
and does it take alot of hard work to make these signatures? I remember reading somewhere on your profile that you went to two years of college for your drawing stuff syn..is that why you're so good at what you do?

Photoshop is around $400 US. Gimp has all the tools you need to make something, however its a bit less user friendly. But with a free price tag.... whos complaining.

I didnt learn how to do all this stuff at my tech school. I learned the basics in PS. It was about 8 months ago, I decided I wanted to start doing signatures (I graduated in 06). Over my time doing these things, I have picked up various methods of performing various gfx tasks. Ive always stuck to my principles of never using a tutorial for anything. But in all honesty... you dont pick up how to do this stuff over night. You will however, progress much faster using tutorials. Just google search: Signature tutorial. You will get a ton of results.

Yes, it's simply called gimp, you'll find it at GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program
If you want to dive right in to the industry standard you'll also find 30 day trials of all the Adobe suite at Adobe

Uh sorry for putting stuff in the wrong location I just joined and I am kinda lazy. I have to admit that I have made more easy webpages to navigate, but I think il'l stick with this one, people seem moore... relaxed or something...

It's free, it is similar to Photoshop (lacks some tools though), is newer so certain saturationbuggs have been fixed... or were never a problem.
