I dont understand why some servers dont let you cuss if the game itself is rated M. The server admins always say "its a family server" whenever I ask that question, which doenst make sense. So I eventually gave up since I was getting nowhere.

But then today I joined a server and they didnt even let you use curse words in abbreviation! You werent allowed to say "bs" or "wtf" etc.

And whenever I ask someone why is that, suddenly everyone turns against me. Am I missing something here that everyone else knows? How come lots of servers and admins care so much about what people say?

I agree its a lame excuse to say you can't swear a little because there might be kids playing. Do these kids live in a bubble?! I just wish the mute feature extended to text. Don't like what someone is saying/typing? Mute them! Problem solved! If you are playing this game you should be able to decide what you don't want to see for yourself.

Sadly I think this has a lot to do with some very wayward christian groups that rent servers and try to make it like other church gatherings. They are trying to have the traffic of a public server and the control of a private server. As you've seen, the result is an admin that does more banning than playing and ten yes men repeating everything he says.

I think a little bit of swearing should be ok. If someone gets out of hand the admin should step in, but they shouldn't go off like their ears are bleeding every time someone types "wtf". Be reasonable.

I think you must be missing something mate if a clan server is a family server thats what it is FOR THE FAMILY

I,am almost 50 years old had 3 kids and 2 grandkids and i dont want to here or see some potty mouth gobbing off on our server i also dont want my grand kids seeing it

On my clans server if i or any other member decides after warning you that you deserve a kick/temp ban/or perm ban then each one of us can do that instantly
However the odd slip ie wtf would be warned and depending on your reply would dictate the action we take
by the way our server is very popular and pubs keep coming back because we have some great custom maps and they really enjoy playing in the friendly polite family server look us up sometime on 69.28.220.115 just mind your language and respect the other players
The servers run 24/7 and we have 7 servers 3 of which are open to the public 2 of these are ranked so you will start at the bottom we have 459 members who all stick to the rules so there is no reason for pubs to misbehave (cheating and bad language )

But i don't like it when people start direspecting eachother like you're a f*****a*** so stfu.

but what i hate most is talking sh** to another player and when he turns out to be an admin, trying to smoothtalk yourself out of it.

I can understand that you don't like it when your grandchildren and children have to read this.

If the server says "NO CURSING OR SWEARING!" follow the rules or play one of the other 16000+ servers

It is about respect and as you say there are 16000+ other servers

If you are on a clans server they pay for it and you are a guest stick to the rules and you wont have a problem break the rules and you end up moaning about clan admins

We, also, run clean language servers...squeaky clean as the console message says. Yes, we have children and women playing. What I have found over the years is this: if you allow abbreviations, it will quickly deteriorate into worse.

A potty mouth won't stop at cussing. Soon, they will be smack talking other players. That same potty mouth would not go into someone's home, put their feet on the furniture and open up with a barrage of expletives. Yet it is OK to do this on a game server as a guest?????

I don't care to see it let alone pay to let someone behave in such a fashion. There is a time and a place for most everything. The time and place for respect towards others is always and everywhere.

I've heard all the excuses...from "the game is rated M" to "I'm Mexican and that's how we say hello" (got that one just last night) to the ones who cuss and say "sorry" right away--over and over again. They just don't fly. There have been many times when other visitors will ask a player to watch their language...please...and warn players they will be kicked/banned if they persist.

As was said before, it is about respect and being respectful. In your own home, you can do as you wish. When you come to our house, you will play nice and be respectful of others or be shown the door.

The world would be a better place if we all had more respect for each other.
