I have thought about joining the Army or Navy. I'm not sure. I mean, if I'm not mistaken they give you a test, you take it and have to score enough points to pass the minimum. Then from the same test they pick what you did best in and show you a career list you can choose your career from right?
I know that not all career choices will go in the front lines but I do know that they usually travel all over and can still end up over seas.
It's been in my mind lately being that I am turning 20 in 2 weeks and I have no clue what I want to do for college.

I already have money for college(long story involving car crash) and im 15, but still considering going to army because i can save that money and use the army for college. Plus itll straighten me out for when ill get older.
Now is not the time to use the Army for college. Being we are in war and conflicts occurring, I really wouldn't join the Army unless you plan on being loyal in your career choice. I've heard several stories of people who join the forces just to get money for school and not expecting to go to war who end up in war, end up killing themselves and maybe even other soldiers. For instance, the one guy who got shipped over who only wanted money for himself, got really depressed as for that was not what he wanted, he wanted school not war. He threw grenades into friendly tents when they were sleeping and then killed himself.
It's not a game, war is not pretty and it can mess with your head. It's not like this video game, CoD. It's not easy at all. So don't sign up unless you like to travel and are ready to be called into action. Like I said not all career choices fight but they all do travel, so if you can handle time away from home also, and home sickness is not a problem for you.. then you're fine. But if you can't stand being over seas and hardly talking to your family, it may be another reason not to enlist.

I haven't and have no intention on joining the military (unless I am called upon). I do however, have the utmost respect for every that is willing to sacrifice their life for the freedom of this country.

Pretty much. You take the ASVAB test to get your scores (min in the army is 32 or 33 I believe). Then you discuss what you interested in ( computers, electronics, guns etc..) and they give you your options based on your score involving those interests.
Yeah, this girl I was close to towards the end of the senior year, who I now haven't talked to sense we graduated really.. took the Navy test. Shes going to be a Crypto Technician. Basically decoding and such, I forget what they said the odds are that people get that job, but apparently its a low rating.. and even lower for females.. but she got it, pretty cool job I would think.
Idk, if my life isn't going anywhere in a few years I'd probably join. I'll give life a shot first though.

I'd have loved to join the Engineers core, or RAF.
However i wont ever shoot poor people in a rich mans war. Theres nothing worth fighting for these days. And certainly nothing worth dying for. Im morally against the types of conflict the US and Uk are involved in these days.
War isnt an issue of national defense anymore. Its a medium to accelerate foreign policy.
I refuse to be part fo that. Hence civil engineering for me.
