But personaly i have no sympathy for suiciders, they take the easy way out and basically quit.
For me its all subjective to the situation.
Soem kill themselves to prove a point (Rediculous)
Some due to events they couldnt deal with (Death in the family, sexual/physical abuse, bad accident, physical dissability). These i can respect, even if i dont agree with. These are human tragedies which i dont understand having never went through it myself.
Some do it due to clinical depression, which is a disease few people understand. Its funny, you say you have cancer everyone gives sympathy. You say you have clinical depression and are subject to social stigma and ignorant opinions.
A close family member of mine killed themselves a few years ago. A good man. The difficulty comes from not understanding his motives.
If you dont understand the reasons behind

I can't respect anybody that kills themselves. They are being selfish and quitting. I've had more than one family member die and my dad was involved in a tragic accident (he fell off a 30ft roof and broke his back). My dad was very active in sports and activities in my life and it all changed on that day. Not once did suicide come into my brain.
No one says you have to respect suicidal persons but you have demonstrated a certain disgust for suicidal people without trying to develop any sort of understanding as to why they may be suicidal in the first place. I don't believe in suicide and I don't condone it myself, but, some people get into a mental state that makes it impossible for them to think of anything but killing themselves. It is hard for someone who has a good life and no history of depression or anger issues to understand why someone might try to take their own life. Suicide in itself is unreasonable but people who are mentally unstable generally don't think reasonably.

Wow, all I could think after I read the article was that hanging himself was pretty stupid. Over a freaking game too man. It's sad, but he was wrong for going that far...and maybe he had pain flowing through his blood, and he had to let it all go somehow, but still, suicide is the "coward's way out"...and all because his father answered back "No." Yet still this kid probably got a lot of things he wanted, but he wanted to do one thing when he could have just done something else...if that were the case, that kid would be here today..
I can see how most people think that suicide is the "coward's way out", but I have a different opinion on that. For the people the suicider leaves behind, it looks like the person didn't want to cope with the problems he had to face. I can understand that and I agree with it.
But if you just look at the act itself, it becomes less cowardly don't you agree?
I'll explain, would you have the guts to take a knive and slice open your wrists? I wouldn't. I would be a coward. So if you look from that perspective, the person has to make a decision, he will end his life. I don't think a coward would be able to actually commit suicide. This only reflects the act itself!!! I don't have sympathy for people who take their own live. But I think it takes b**** to actually end your life.
This is opinion. i will not look down on you if you think different.
