You know what sucks? When your computer crashes and goes back 5 months. Well, it just happened to me, and I lost all my writing for school, my favorites, wallpaper, and files/documents. Time to work my way up.

Did anything like this happen to you before?

My brother just told me a possible cause that I should have known. It crashed and restored back a couple of months ago because I was hibernating too much.

Just leave your computer on 24/7.. thats what I do. It's on for weeks before its shut off (and thats only because of random power outages/driver updates) Sometimes it's on for months at a time

I had over 100 gb of music and various content on my computer last month before crashed...a few days later and it's all back because of my Maxtor III. Couldn't live without them.

my dad set up a 2 terabite back up for our mac and a terabite back up for the pc. it seems a little excesive to me and it takes like 4 hours monday morning to back up so i hate it.

Acronis True Home Image is a great little product and not to expensive, i use it to create a hard drive image and it has restored my Vista PC twice now, can also run incremental backups & save email data & files.

But an external or network drive is a must, a single Network Drive can run for about 4p a day (so ive read).

A terabyte server nice , sounds like you need a Cat6 network (gigabit) that would speed things up.
