Here are some interesting tips I found in an article that might be useful to you. They apply to most FPS' but some of these tips might be new to you.

Call of Duty 4, we have are good times and our bad times. For more good times here are 10 easy tips to help you in call of duty 4.

1. Learn the Maps - To kind of get used to the maps learn where everything is on it. It helps to know where people will be. Try to look at different areas that might be good. Then check where the different vantage points for that area are. Where people can shoot at you from, and where to look for potential kills.

2. Practice Using Your Brain - In Call of Duty you need to use your brain. Your brain is a weapon in its own. You have to know when it is smart to move into a building. Where and when to throw a frag or a flash grenade. Practice using this tool that you have to get more kills in COD4.

3. Attack From an Angle - Being a good shot is great, but having an advantage can't hurt. You are starting off and are bum rushing the enemy. There are usually 3 different directions that you can go. The worst way to go is straight. Also think of where the person is shooting. If he is shooting north, then he will probably paying attention to the north. You come in from the side and you can take him out, no problem.

4. Use the Shadows - The shadows are there for a reason. You could get on the ground crawling on the grass and you probably won't be found. The problem with that is that the grass gets the way and you can't shoot anyone. So, you got the next best thing: Shadows. When your in the deep, dark, shadows in a crouched position, you have a much higher chance of not being taken out. The darker the shadow, the better.

5. Aim for the Head - You have to try and get used to shooting the head. This is BIG! You can take a dozen shots at the guy's chest and he will go down, or you can push the trigger once and hit his head and he's asleep, permanently. Try to always aim for the head. You might not get it all the time, but keep trying to get those headshots at all times. You have to remember that you are always getting better.

6. Don't Hesitate - When you see the guy you have to take the shot as fast as the bullet moves through the air. Use those fast reflexes. See movement, take a shot, thats what you should do. Don't hesitate with the shots, you turn, you see movement, pull the trigger!

7. Watch the Mini Map - This is sometimes over looked by the beginners in the game. Check where you are. Look for the doors, where are the walls, if the target was hiding here where could I take him out the fastest without risk of getting shot. Look at the mini map for any info that you can use. Also when you have the enemies showing on the map they are usually clustered around an area, or have about half the map under control. Then you can determine what you can do.

8. Stay, shoot, move, repeat - This is a type of standard move. You go from one place to another. Kind of like camping, but not fully. You go to this corner, direct your fire and take people out with your skills over here. Then you can rush somewhere else, and then you repeat.

9. When you're seen, Run - If you are getting shot at from an enemy down range, don't just try to shoot back and hope you will kill him before he kills you. Most of the time it will work out in their favor. Instead, run away from that area. Then you can keep going on.

10. Stay confident - You are running around and are looking to get some kills. That won't happen if you see someone and the first thing that you think of is "Don't die". When you are like that you really won't get anywhere in terms of getting kills. Instead you have to think thoughts like "I got this" or "I'll blow his head off" or even "I'll pop this kid where it hurts". Stay confident and you'll get a lot more kills.

Depends on the last part... if you got 6 kills you might want to think dont die and when I say don't die I mean being strategic about it... like playing it safe.

knowing your map is by far the greatest advantage, if you get it down to an art you can pin the enemy in a second just by knowing where he isn't... if that makes sense to you guys lol

11. Don't block teammates - You are standing in the doorway of a crowded room with some fine windows. The room is filled with sniping teammates.
Suddenly, you hear the loving grenade sound enter the room, but you don't see any grenade indicator. You are safe.
Nevertheless you see your teammates depserately trying to back out of the room; what do you do? MOVE YOUR F**ING ASS.

This has happened to me way too many times in corridors and rooms. Some people back off "just enough" so that the rest of the dudes get blown to ****

Yeah that happens to me alot on Bloc. I'm in a room sniping and all of a sudden I hear a grenade being thrown into the room and I try to escape through the nearest exit and theres some stupid-ass team mate, blocking me. So......... We both get blown up.....
