Here are some interesting tips I found in an article that might be useful to you. They apply to most FPS' but some of these tips might be new to you.

Call of Duty 4, we have are good times and our bad times. For more good times here are 10 easy tips to help you in call of duty 4.

1. Learn the Maps - To kind of get used to the maps learn where everything is on it. It helps to know where people will be. Try to look at different areas that might be good. Then check where the different vantage points for that area are. Where people can shoot at you from, and where to look for potential kills.

2. Practice Using Your Brain - In Call of Duty you need to use your brain. Your brain is a weapon in its own. You have to know when it is smart to move into a building. Where and when to throw a frag or a flash grenade. Practice using this tool that you have to get more kills in COD4.

3. Attack From an Angle - Being a good shot is great, but having an advantage can't hurt. You are starting off and are bum rushing the enemy. There are usually 3 different directions that you can go. The worst way to go is straight. Also think of where the person is shooting. If he is shooting north, then he will probably paying attention to the north. You come in from the side and you can take him out, no problem.

4. Use the Shadows - The shadows are there for a reason. You could get on the ground crawling on the grass and you probably won't be found. The problem with that is that the grass gets the way and you can't shoot anyone. So, you got the next best thing: Shadows. When your in the deep, dark, shadows in a crouched position, you have a much higher chance of not being taken out. The darker the shadow, the better.

5. Aim for the Head - You have to try and get used to shooting the head. This is BIG! You can take a dozen shots at the guy's chest and he will go down, or you can push the trigger once and hit his head and he's asleep, permanently. Try to always aim for the head. You might not get it all the time, but keep trying to get those headshots at all times. You have to remember that you are always getting better.

6. Don't Hesitate - When you see the guy you have to take the shot as fast as the bullet moves through the air. Use those fast reflexes. See movement, take a shot, thats what you should do. Don't hesitate with the shots, you turn, you see movement, pull the trigger!

7. Watch the Mini Map - This is sometimes over looked by the beginners in the game. Check where you are. Look for the doors, where are the walls, if the target was hiding here where could I take him out the fastest without risk of getting shot. Look at the mini map for any info that you can use. Also when you have the enemies showing on the map they are usually clustered around an area, or have about half the map under control. Then you can determine what you can do.

8. Stay, shoot, move, repeat - This is a type of standard move. You go from one place to another. Kind of like camping, but not fully. You go to this corner, direct your fire and take people out with your skills over here. Then you can rush somewhere else, and then you repeat.

9. When you're seen, Run - If you are getting shot at from an enemy down range, don't just try to shoot back and hope you will kill him before he kills you. Most of the time it will work out in their favor. Instead, run away from that area. Then you can keep going on.

10. Stay confident - You are running around and are looking to get some kills. That won't happen if you see someone and the first thing that you think of is "Don't die". When you are like that you really won't get anywhere in terms of getting kills. Instead you have to think thoughts like "I got this" or "I'll blow his head off" or even "I'll pop this kid where it hurts". Stay confident and you'll get a lot more kills.

Awesome tips. One of mine would be to crouch while you walk when near an enemy, otherwise they'll hear your footsteps and wait for you. If you hear footsteps near you, stop, crouch, listen, and get ready to shoot.

Also if your using a gun with low damage then don't bother with stopping power as it doesn't inceases bullet damage by that much

increase=original damage X (1+ (original damage / 10)
I would have to disagree. In my opinion, SP > Juggernaut for the simple fact that SP is an offensive perk whereas Juggernaut is a defensive one. Also, cooldude391's SP calculating formula is wrong. For those who do not know the specifics on both perks, SP increases bullet damage by a constant 140%. Likewise, Juggernaut increases player health by 140%. <http://cod4source.com/cod4-call-of-duty-4-perk-stats-chart-description-and-guide> While cooldude391 is correct in saying that a 140% increase in bullet damage from SP will be less effective on a M4 (M4 damage 30-20, short range-long range) as it would be with a M16 (M16 damage 40-30, again short range-long range), it will still have some impact. <http://cod4source.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/cod4weaponstatschart.jpg>

For example, lets look at the M4 with and without SP. The M4 does 30-20 damage. This means it requires 4 shots at close range and 5 shots at long range to kill (a standard non-hardcore game with a non-juggernaut target). When we add SP, the M4's damage goes up to 42-28 (30*1.4-20*1.4). This means that with SP, the M4 takes only 3 shots at short range and 4 at long range to take out the 100 health of a non-hardcore game non-juggernaut target.

I am not saying, however, that one should never use juggernaut. This is a matter of personal preference. If one would rather have 140 health over the regular (non-hardcore) 100 health, then so be it. I am just merely stating the facts of each. In fact, I use neither. Give me a silenced weapon w/ UAV Jammer any day

Interesting tips, if any of you are having trouble sniping I posted a guide in the 360 section called The Art of Sniping: A guide for new players. Check that out that might help you get better at sniping.

on all maps use the MP5 with extreme conditioning, works very well on larger open maps such as bloc and bog. first 2 rounds on S~a~D use MP5, then after the first 2 rounds swap to long range and sit back, and you wil catch them out trying to catch you out by them changing to a SMG, if ya understand?
i have ranked up through 3 ranks so fast, and ppl seem not to do it themselves, or never catch on its a gd idea when im getting 15/0 kd ratio lol
and ive started to play SnD harcore so ppl in my way i just shoot lol

Good tips. Yes knowing the maps is huge. Also, like was mentioned, don't camp. I wouldn't stay in one position for more than 2 kills.
