Call of Duty 5 Announced

Call of Duty 5 has just been announced for all platforms, including the DS and the Wii:

damn..... modern is so much better.
why would they wanna go from ww2 war games to modern war games and then back to ww2 thats just str8 up dumb as hell.

they should stick to modern just differant stuff in this game than the last.

i hope that they arent serious about returning to the ww2 era...i love the modern type games...they better have some cool stuff to make it better than cod4...i might gamefly it or rent it before buying it...does anybody know if they have released information about it???like what all its supposed to have within it or not????

Listened to a PODCast the other day and the word about COD5 is that TreyArch will be composing the new COD using the Infinity Ward COD4 engine. So the game should be visually impressive. But just consider if COD3 had the COD4 graphics engine?

The other thing they mentioned was that COD5 will be "...in a different theater." What that means for the game as far as WW2 or modern day combat setting, only time will tell.

The PODCast was The HotSpot on Gamespot.com. It was not the latest one, I believe it was the podcast from 5/13/2008 if anyone is interested in tuning in themselves.

As long as they are using the COD4 engine, it should be quite good. If they do return to the WW2 era, they should at least keep modern weapons in the game. This is a vid game and not a "real" war simulator, so I say why not? I still think they will go with a Pacific theater - Iwo Jima, Guadacanal and maybe even some Naval battles. I'm looking forward to it...

Considering the sucess that COD4 has had, I think they have noticed and will continue or try to continue to build with that success hopefully it will be good my hopes weren't great at first, but they are looking brighter.
