Default Awe4 1.3

Downloads: A new file has been added by CoD4Boards:

AWE4 1.3

Here is the latest incarnation of AWE4

Downloads

There are 2 versions for you to choose -

1 that removes the enemy red hit blips until UAV is called;

1 that doesnt.

This is the "No Red Hit Blip" Version:

==================

# Setup and use:

AWE4 no longer uses 2 IWD files. What was the server side IWD is now in the mod.ff file.

Place both mod.ff and z_awe4.iwd in your mod folder on your server.

Place both files also on your redirect space for download.

For comprehensive server setup, please see this tutorial in our server help forum:

http://iwnation.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=29394

==================

# Ranking and Linux servers:

The ranking problem still persists with the Linux 1.5 binaries. Therefore, set this to "0" if you have a Linux server:

set awe_rankup “0”

# Ranking and Windows servers:

As the setSat() function problem does not affect Windows servers, set the same dvar to this:

set awe_rankup “1”

You will get persistent ranking

==================

Features and enhancements:

3 New Gametypes –

Conquest:

Maps supported so far:

Crossfire
Strike
Pipeline
Overgrown

Please see the enclosed cnq_readme.rtf file for full explanation of the Conquest TDM gametype, and how it works.

Retrieval:

Maps supported so far:

Strike
Citystreets
Crossfire
Pipeline
Overgrown
Farm
Bloc
Backlot
Convoy
Crash
Winter Crash

This is a faithful reproduction of the vCOD gametype by IW. Please consult the re_readme.rtf file for explanation of how Retrieval works.

Capture and Hold:

Basically, all the stock maps -

Strike
Citystreets
Crossfire
Pipeline
Overgrown
Farm
Bloc
Backlot
Convoy
Crash
Winter Crash
Bog
Cargoship
Shipment
Countdown
Vacant
Showdown

You can use Capture and Hold on custom maps. Just make sure you set the spawn array for the spawn points supported by that particular map.

This is a “free-for-all” version of Hold the Flag.

==================

Ok, now that is clear, lets move on to the new features, or existing features which have been enhanced.

# Anti Camper:

now you can handle those annoying campers with this code from AWE3 COD2.

# New End of Map Voting:

now has 7 random selections, with a bigger and clearer voting box.

# Sabotage:

got rid of the “kill” headicon. Just set this dvar:

set scr_sab_show_killtarget 0

# CTF and CTB:

There are a whole load of new dvars for CTF and CTFB. Please see the relevant config files for details. Also, you will see that CTF and CTFB have new voiceovers and spinning base FX for the flags.

# Enhanced Auto Assign:

Now, when set, awe force auto assign only gives players the “autoassign” button. The teams’ (allies/axis) buttons doesn’t even appear anymore.

# Force Weapons:

now you can also force 3 perks on a player. Please consult the separate forceweapons.cfg file for dvars.

# Server Info Menus:

These can be set to show a connecting player not only a Moto-of-the-Day (motd) but also up to 5 server rules.

The MOTD dvar is the standard COD dvar:

set scr_motd “”

The 5 rules are defaulted to these:

set scr_server_rule_1 “Rule 1. Dont Cheat!”
set scr_server_rule_2 “Rule 2. Dont Abuse the server”
set scr_server_rule_3 “Rule 3. Dont Chat Spam”
set scr_server_rule_4 “Rule 4. Test 1”
set scr_server_rule_5 “Rule 5. Test 2”

You don’t have to use these. Just leave them blank.

# Map Turret Guns:

there is now a dvar to deactivate these if you don’t like them. Please consult the awe.cfg file for the dvar.

Nice! I'm having a problem, though
The flags sites don't display on the minimap anymore on CTF... Is there a command to make them show up again?

Default awe4 1.3 crash

I have d/led the mod and edited it and put it on my server but i cannot get it to work. Everytime i try (or someone else tries) to connect to the server the game crashes and it gives an error. however, it doesnt tell you what the error is. also i have noticed that when someone tries to d/l the mod from my redirect or from the server it doesnt completly d/l. the mod.ff file is like 508kb and the z_awe4.iwd is like 667kb but it only d/ls 134kb of each. So i manually put the files into my cod4 folder on my computer and it still crashes the game upon my entering the server.

any help with this would be appreciated...

btw my server does run from linux but i did put the rankup dvar to 0

Default AWE4 1.3 config Files

Whree can I edit the scope movement in the config files.

I am setting up a non-dedicated server for and LAN for just a few of us.
We wnat to stop the constant movement of the scope for sniper rifles.

I have been on a couple of servers that have this movement stoped.

Also, how do I set it up for the scope to have a zoom in/out, say 1 to 8?

Thank you,
