Opinions?? I hear its out and isnt as good as the 8800 gtx..im kinda disappointed from what I hear about it..Anyone here actually have one that they use??

Well the 7800 was better than the 8600..

They just make the numbers higher so people want to get the latest version

But the 9800 should be better than than 8800. The ones ending in *800 are usually the better cards (6800, 7800, 8800, etc... all beastly cards when they came out.. even better than the next generation of cards that came after it.. well.. next generation before the *800 model)

the 9600 is a low mid range graphics card,
it isn't expected to out perform the high end cards in the last series.

Like the 8000 series had no decent affordable mid range card
That performed well until the 8800GT was released

8600 is half descent but isnt great...can play all the modern games today fine maybe with exception but even my x1600 can play crysis DX9 on medium-high

nvidia 8800/8900 if you have the money

Old thread but I have these in SLI and they do great. They scale extremely well and run cool at low volts. Got both 300 shipped. Max out everything but crysis. Im happy.

hehe i think there is yet to be a system that can run crysis on full graphics :X

the 9 series is better at sli than the 8 series, so 2 9600gt's in sli can outperform one 8800 gts 512 revision. The original retail of the 8800 gts =360 usd, and an individual 9600gt is only 150, this is a better alternative that you can consider if you have an sli ready board
