Laptops

I'm looking for a decent lap top computer. Not a 5 star laptop but something I can access the internet from and browse the forums with while I'm on the go. The only problem is, I am clueless when it comes to computers.. not completely, but I am when it comes to picking out the good ones and such. Does anyone have laptops and feel up to posting suggestions and opinions and prices for me, I'm looking online now.

Not even sure what brand I want.

Always heard Sony VAIO are great laptops, I'm using one myself.
You have them in all priceranges I'm using one of the FZ ones.

I don't exactly know how much you'd like to spend (and I can never remeber how much the dollar is nowadays) I'd say you should be able to get a decent one for internet use from around 700 a 800 $

Yeah, I didn't think they were that much. My friend got one for 400$ or so but he said he doesn't run internet on it he uses it for songs and for messing around with music. I don't really know what I want to spend.. I wanted to go no higher then 400$ but it's all good I guess.. I start my new job tomorrow and I can just save up.. I am unsure if I really need one, all it would be is CoD4Boards on the run for me really.. that and myspace and AIM.

Need to see if the value is worth it and compare to how much traveling I'll be doing this summer.

If it's just for that why not just get an iphone?

Maybe the Voyager.. being that I am a Verizon customer. The Voyager is the Verizon style iPhone is it not? Good idea, but how much does the internet and all that cost, would it really be worth it.

Isn't wireless free on a laptop, being that you leach off people in the area and such for a few minutes.

I'm not as much of a computer geek as people may think I am but here's what you want -

-2 GB of RAM
-15.4" screen (you can get larger - but they might be too massive for you to successfully transport them around - my 15.4 is a pain sometimes too)
-Try and get Windows XP. Nowadays, people only sell Vista ones, and they're not worth it. Try and bargain for XP (you might have to pay more but it's okay)

What's your price range? Maybe I can pull something off of Dell that might appeal to you.
