Default Speaker static issue

Hey guys, I have a really nice speaker system and a USB sound card, I seem to have an issue with it having static when I play games like WoW and when I list to music, even when it's not that loud.. Could it be because the USB port doesn't have enough bandwidth or something, or USB sound cards are worse then PCI slot ones, or..? What, im kinda out of ideas lol.

Other than just updating your drivers the only other thing I could recommend is to try a different sound card and see if it is the sound card, if not tell us then.

Definitely sounds like a driver/setting problem.

no, the most probable problem is actual "static" generated from parts within your computer, a graphics card and cpu in a small environment are usually the culprits or if something is clocked really high. soundcards like the ac-1 barracuda that come with a passive EMI shield don't have static because they block it out. So get a better soundcard.

ps. if you have a nice speaker system, why would you have a crappy usb sound card? all you are doing is bottlenecking your system
