Guns / Attachments / Perks / Maps:
M16
Attachments
Red Dot Sight - I feel that this is a great addition to this gun. It gives you pin-point accuracy to hit targets from long-close range. It gives you the ability to stayed aimed down your sight and still have great peripheral vision (with a higher sensitivity this can be very deadly). I would recommend this attachment to beginning players that are just trying to get use to how the weapon works. The game types I feel this attachment works best on are: HQ, Ground War. Mainly because there are going to be a lot of people and sometimes you won’t even know which one to shoot. Also, having the silencer on will hinder your peripheral vision and you won’t be able to see all on-coming enemies. There a lot of targets to shoot at and you’ll definitely get a lot of practice.
Silencer - Overall, I believe this is the best attachment with this gun. It gives you the ability to be a ghost around the map, not alerting any nearby enemies by sound or by showing up on the radar. It also seems to increase the accuracy of your hip-fire. However, if you’re not particularly good with iron-sights, this attachment might be a bad choice for you. Even though you start with the iron-sights, not everybody adjusts to them so easily. But if you feel you have mastered how to look down the iron-sights and tag targets from across the stage, this attachment will give you the best chance to win. I would recommend this attachment to intermediate/advanced level players that feel they have adequate enough proficiency using iron-sights. The game types I would recommend this attachment for are: S&D, Merc TDM. Mainly because it is vital in S&D that you remain as calm and quiet as possible. It will give you a clear advantage over your enemies. In Merc TDM, your bound to get teammates that don’t really know what they are doing and could possibly allow the other team to get multiple UAV’s.
Grenade Launcher - This is my least favorite attachment for the M16. It is the least effective and you’ll only get two M203 rounds. If you’re not proficient with the iron-sights, that’s another problem because you’ll have to use them if you want to use the M203. With the limited amount of damage done and the fact that you have to use the iron-sights, I would never recommend this attachment.
ACOG - This is another attachment that is pretty useless on the M16. The range is just as effective as if you were using the RDS. The ACOG will severely inhibit your peripheral vision as well. There just isn’t enough benefits to using it when you have better options to work with.
Recommended Perks
Category 1 - Depends on what kind of play-style you’re looking to play for that specific game. If you are going to be an offensive type player, I would go with the Frags x3 perk as it gives you the advantage to take out multiple enemies bettering your chance at acquiring a UAV. If you're going to be a defensive player and try to keep control of key spots on the map, I would recommend claymores. It will let you watch 2-3 separate directions without having to worry about getting killed from behind/from the side.
Category 2 - This is going to depend on whether or not you're playing by yourself. If you are, I would recommend UAV Jammer as I believe that the M16 has good enough power to let you sacrifice that perk if needed. However, if you are on a well experienced team, I would recommend Stopping Power because it gives you that extra advantage over your enemy.
Category 3 - I believe this to be very crucial. I'm always going to recommend Steady Aim on the M16. It gives you the extra advantage over a player that thinks he has just rushed you for a kill. It is a very accurate gun (when hip-fired) and Steady Aim only makes that even deadlier.
Recommended Maps / Gametypes
Maps - I would recommend any and every map for the M16 (even Killhouse and Shipment). It is a very versatile weapon that can be used both in CQB and long-range. It has very quick aiming ability and enough power to take down the enemy from afar.
Gametypes - Once again, I would recommend this gun in every single game type there is. In the quicker based game types (FFA, Domination, etc) you might find yourself playing differently than say if you were in a HQ, TDM, etc. For the faster paced game types, be sure to make use of the hip-fire/steady aim combination. You’ll be able to take the objectives quickly using your steady aim and making your way closer to the enemy and once you’ve done that you can keep them away from a distance because of how accurate the gun is. For the slower paced game types, you’ll usually find your laying back and picking heavily trafficked areas to be around (for max amount of kills/control).

AK-47
Attachments
Red Dot Sight - I’m not a big fan of this attachment for this gun. It can only be effective in the hands of intermediate/advanced level players and you’ll have to know how to effectively shoot in ‘burst fire’.
[Essentially, when aiming at a target that is approximately 50-100ft away DO NOT auto-fire it. Make sure that you aim around the hip and just tap the right trigger until your recoil comes back down and repeat if necessary] It doesn’t increase the range of the AK enough to be any more effective than no attachments at all (but it does provide a better scope, with better peripheral vision) even though I find that AK to have the best iron-sights in the game. As long as you know how to ‘burst-fire’ the gun, this attachment should work fine for you. Remember, this gun makes a lot of noise when fired (especially on auto) so be careful about which gametypes you pick. I would recommend; TDM, HQ, and Domination mainly because your head should always be on a swivel and appearing on the enemy UAV shouldn’t hinder your capabilities too much as you’re going to be expecting them (or you should).
Silencer - This is another attachment I’m not a big fan of on this gun. It seems to decrease the amount of damage your bullets are doing
[close-mid-long range] (it also decreases range as most of you should know ). It’s just not as effective and you are also going to have to use the iron-sights so I would definitely suggest that newer players stay away from this attachment.
Grenade Launcher - Again, as with the M16, if you’re not proficient with the iron-sights, DO NOT use this attachment. Remember, it will take up Category 1 in your Perks inventory
[C4 x2, Special Grenades x3, Frags x3, RPG x2, Claymore x2, Bomb Squad, Bandolier] so if you’re do not want to lose any of them, don’t use this attachment. This is essential because the AK is going to run out of ammo often
[Ammo: 30/60] because it only shares ammo with the RPD & M60 and those are not used often in traditional game play
[Meaning if someone that is using the RPD/M60 dies and you run over their body, you’ll acquire more ammo for the AK]. Remember, the grenades are not going to explode if you’re within around a 100-150ft radius of the enemy. Again, I would only recommend this attachment in hardcore gametypes where you’re going to have a higher % to use both grenades effectively.
ACOG - Even though I’m not a big fan of this attachment of any assault/sub/light-heavy weapons, it is surprisingly effective on this gun. It is very effective and increases the range/damage tremendously. The only hindrance is going to be losing your peripheral vision. Therefore, when using the ACOG make sure to only stay aimed in for 1-2 seconds. Any longer and you’re risking an enemy flanking you because of your lack of peripheral vision. Another tip, try to get used to where the red triangle is going to come up even before you look through the ACOG. Once you get that mastered you’ll be able to fire as soon as you’re aiming in getting an accurate/effective first shot off at the enemy. I would recommend this attachment in any gametype as long as you follow the above steps.
Recommended Perks
Category 1 -
[C4 x2, Special Grenades x3, Frags x3, RPG x2, Claymore x2, Bomb Squad,
Bandolier
I would highly recommend Bandolier with the AK-47. It is going to run out of ammo a lot and there just isn’t enough RPD’s/M60’s laying around to keep your ammo count up and this is crucial if you want to go on 5 or 7 kill streaks.
Category 2 -
[
Stopping Power,
Juggernaught, Sleight of Hand, Double Tap, Overkill, UAV Jammer, Sonic Boom]
Believe it or not, I like 2 perks for this category; Stopping Power & Juggernaught (yes, I said it). First of all, Stopping Power is going to give you that first shot advantage (which is very crucial against experienced players). On the other hand, Stopping Power isn’t really necessary with the power of the AK-47 and therefore I would recommend Juggernaught to newer players that haven’t developed a quick shot yet. This perk will give you the chance to recover from getting out shot. Even though someone got the drop on you, you still have the chance to aim in and take them out (and with the damage, you should be able to) especially because they might not be expecting you to have it, consequentially stop their firing and handing you the perfect opportunity.
Category 3 -
[Extreme Conditioning,
Steady Aim, Last Stand, Martyrdom,
Deep Impact, Iron Lungs, Dead Silence, Eavesdrop]
I like 2 perks in this Category as well; Steady Aim & Deep Impact. First of all, Steady Aim is a great perk for any assault rifle as it will give you the chance to kill an enemy who is running up on you (most likely with a sub-machine gun). It works very well with the AK also, so don’t be afraid to use it. Secondly, Deep Impact is a real good perk with this gun. It already has the power to shoot through a lot of stuff and this will give you a definite advantage. Here is a tip; whilst you have Deep Impact equipped and you have an enemy close and your exiting a door try to keep your fire locked down on him and back up through the door (providing you cover) and keep firing through the wall where the enemy was. It will most likely kill the enemy (not to mention piss him off) and he’ll probably perform poorly from there on out.

Backlot -

Bloc –
Not Recommended
[Reason: This stage is completely dominated by Snipers/SMG’s. The AK doesn’t have sufficient enough range to reach across between buildings and Snipers will pick you off if you try to cross to the other side. Also, it is very tight quarters within them building and the SMG’s rate of fire is going to outdo the AK.]

Countdown -
Not Recommended
[Reason: This stage is completely open and most of the fighting it going to take place from a distance and the AK is not very accurate. This will lead to a lot of reloading (which there isn’t a lot of cover for) and that will most likely lead to a lot of deaths.]
Crash -
Recommended
Creek -
Not Recommended
[Reason: Just like Bloc, this stage is completely dominated by Snipers/SMG’s. The majority of the fighting is going to take place up-close and personal or a long-range distance and having an AK is going to leave you stuck in the middle, wishing you had a more accurate gun.]

[Reason: For obvious reasons, it isn’t as versatile as the M16 and doesn’t have a fast enough rate of fire to compete with the SMG’s.]

Wetwork -
Not Recommended
[Reason: This stage is completely symmetrical in shape and there is a very low amount of shooting lanes (most of which occur from a distance). You’re most likely going to find yourself getting sniped/outshot from a more accurate gun or stunned and run up on.]
