Default Stopping Power vs Double Tap

Both perks are there to make you kill faster. Which one does a better job of it?

What are the various strengths and weaknesses with these two perks on the different guns in this game?

Is one better then the other?

Stopping Power is 140% bullet damage, whereas Double Tap is 135% rate of fire so you do the math.

I prefer double tap on my M16 and shotguns as it reduces the pause between shots, but pretty much use Stopping Power on all of my other guns.

Stopping power all the way. I have used double tap and the only thing I have really noticed is that I burn through my ammo at twice the rate, it really doesn't seem to make anything more effective to me.

I use stopping power as it uses less ammo to kill, whereas double tap uses more. More ammo = more potential kills

I think really the only weapon I like to use double tap with on occasion would be the p90 other than that I really don't touch it. If I am playing softcore I am using stopping power the majority of the time but I generally use UAV jammer more than anything since I play Hardcore most of the time.

That's why you use Bandolier with it.

when i play regular, i use stopping power on the fast guns, and double tap on the slow but strong guns.
