Default Basic Guide For New Gamers

Basic Guide for New Gamers

Ok here’s what I gathered from the many guides and from my own experience

Assault Rifles:

I suggest that you choose this class when you’re a normal infantry person where you charge in on battles. You’ll also be covering your allies and be the front man. This is a good class for beginners and if you’ve beaten the single player mode first you’ll be a little more used to this class.

Recommended Perks:

Perk 1:

-Special Grenades (For the flankers)
-Frag Grenades x3 (For covering)
-Bandolier (For the survivors)

Perk 2:

-Juggernaut
-Stopping Power
-Double Tap

Perk 3:

-Steady Aim
-Deep Impact

SMG’s:

Ok this class can go one of two ways. The most used way is stealth. So that means when you unlock them, use the silencers on your guns. The stealth guys are the ones who usually sneak around killing snipers or other enemies covering their team. But what if you’re playing Headquarters or Domination? That’s when you become the scouts. These are the guys who rush in or on the side of battles to reach an objective. The reason you should use SMG’s is because they’re light weight and have plenty of ammo, accurate at close to medium range and a little more subtle when scouting.

Recommended Perks:

For Stealth:

Perk 1:

-Bomb Squad
-Special Grenades x3
-Frag Grenades x3
-Bandolier

Perk 2 :

-Juggernaut
-UAV Jammer (most recommended)

Perk 3:

-Steady Aim
-Dead Silence

For Scouting:

Perk 1:

-Bomb Squad
-Special Grenades x3
-Frag Grenades x3
-Bandolier

Perk 2:

-Juggernaut
-UAV Jammer

Perk 3:

-Steady Aim
-Extreme Conditioning (My number one recommendation)

Snipers:

Ok this is these are the guys who like to hang back and take their shots from afar obviously. They cover their team and most importantly help take out enemy snipers. My number one tip is to PICK YOUR SHOTS! Because none of the sniper rifles are silenced and every shot gives you away. That’s why after every one or two shots I advise you to move your position and always stick to high ground or if you’re in a grassy map stay prone to avoid detection. And never forget to aim for the head if possible.

Recommended Perks:

Perks 1:

-Claymores
-Bandolier

Perk 2:

-Stopping Power (Better chance of a kill when not a headshot)
-UAV Jammer (Number one recommended because of no silence weapons)

Perk 3:

-Dead Silence
-Iron Lungs

LMGs:

Ok the big guys, the heavy artillery these are the ones you don’t want to mess with. They’re main use in my opinion is suppressive or covering fire when flanking an enemy. These guys can clear a room. They are stocked with ammo and don’t need to concentrate on reloading. But be careful, when reloading take cover cause it takes a hell of a long time to do so.

Recommended Perks:

Perks 1:

-RPG-7 x2
-Frag x3

Perk 2:

-Sleight of Hand
-Stopping Power
-Juggernaut

Perk 3:

-Steady Aim
-Deep Impact

Shotguns

Ah yes the big bad boys of the classes. Ok so the first thing I need to say is only use this class in close quarter maps such as Shipment, Killhouse, Pipeline, Showdown, Vacant and Wet Works. These I find are the kamikazes of Call of Duty 4, because honestly you need to charge up to enemies to make contact and kill them and sniping with a shotgun is a no-no. This class is for more of the lone wolfs of the game.

Recommended Perks:

Perk 1:

-Ok in my opinion the only decent Perk 1 is bandolier for this class but if you’re charging all the time you won’t last long to use up all your ammo so I suggest you use the grip when you unlock it, which will replace Perk 1

Perk 2:

-Juggernaut
-Sleight of Hand
-Stopping Power

Perk 3:

-Extreme Conditioning
-Steady Aim
-Deep Impact

Other Tips

Weapon Attachments: Ok for this guy use what ever attachment you want it all depends on your style of play so don’t worry about that. The only thing I emphasize on is using the silencer when using a stealth class but that’s just common logic.

Side Arms: Ok so there are four pistols to choose from. I recommend you use the USP.45 with a silencer for the SMG and Sniper class and for the rest I suggest the Desert Eagle because that sucker can kill!

Overkill: Ok this is a Tier 2 perk that let’s you hold two primary weapons. Now if you choose to do this here are what I think good weapon combinations

LMG/Shotgun: Because the LMGs are great for distance but when challenging someone up close whip out the shotgun cause the LMG has bad accuracy close range

Sniper/SMG: This is my favorite combination due to the fact that the sniper rifle does give you away so when you move from one area to another (which I suggest you do) you can use your SMG to protect yourself because the sniper isn’t very good up close (note the big scope on it) also SMG should be silenced (for that added sneakiness)

Shotgun/Sniper: Note use the shotgun as the main primary weapon but say you’re in a situation where there’s a guy you could see in plain sight but know you cannot reach him with your shotgun so then pull out the sniper rifle and he won’t even know what hit him

Grenades: Pretty simple always cook your grenade (if you have the chance) so it doesn’t allow an enemy to throw it back in your face

Special Grenades: All special grenades are useful and flash and stun (in my opinion) do the same thing one just makes the enemy go slower but I suggest you use smoke when either hiding from snipers, flanking an enemy or intimidating your enemy into retreating.

Well that’s it for now I hope you enjoyed my first guide and I hope it provides useful to you.

Oh and on a side note for people who use grenade launchers or martyrdom: don’t listen to the jerks who call you noob or such and such, use those things if you want and ignore their remarks…my motto is if it’s the game…use it!

Fantastic guide. The only thing I see wrong with it is the fact that you only suggest 'two' perks for perk 1 of the shotgun (Bando and grip). Bandolier can help but in reality your bullets kill and thus you won't need the 40 bullets supplied to you. A lot of games there are shotgunners on both sides and thus you can just pick up his bullets.

However, I truely suggest you use frag x3. You won't have it in the beginning, but when you do, it is one of the best to use with the shotgun. The reason why is because you can easily start cooking one and use it for both range and to use it for those enemies that are aware of you. If you're ever in a spot were you can't charge them with your shotgun (as in the enemy is aware of you)... get to some cover and pull out the grenade now peek out of cover and hurl it at them. Cooking is important as sometimes they will throw it back which can mean death for you.

its a nice guide. the only problem i have with it is that its supposed to be for new gamers...but a lot of the perks that you suggest dont get unlocked until mid-high ranks, which by then probably means the players have already figured out what works best for them. You point out a lot of good ideas though.

yea i did concider that butn then i thought to myself that yes even though some of the people unlocked the perks you still would like to know good strategies. im not saying this is THE guide you need to read in order to be a better gamer but in this i've answered questions or tips that i myself have asked and i thought maybe others will too. but yes thank you for the input and yea i guess the title does throw you off
