i dont get why in call of duty 4 you can silence the coltM1991 pistol but not in world at war is it just that at that time they didnt have that type of technology?

Not sure, but the pistols have much better range so ill take that trade off. I was in last stand with the .357 and took out someone who was almost out of SMG range. He was standing still though.

i havent a clue whether they had silencers on pistols back in WWII so maybe that is why there not on the game

actually the range to me is the same as COD4. I used to pick people off across the map w/ the USP. I could wreck people w/ that pistol. I wish I had it again in WaW but thats not gonna happen. :-(

they did have silenced pistols in ww2 but not many so if all the pistols had silencers it would mean the games weapons would be unrealistic.

Correct. They didnt have silencers for pistols in WW2. However, now-a-days they have the ability to silence pistols
