I'm using a ps3. and everytime i try to sign into cod4 multi player it says downloading game settings.... then tells me that i can not play unless i am signed into the playstation network. well I AM signed into the playstation network and am able to still play wipeout hd online. i have no idea how to fix this and i really really wanna play cod4 online. this is the worst thing that has ever happened to me. can someone please help me. i'd really appreciate it.

i'm using an smc networks router in a college dorm. i've been playing cod4 here since sept. and all of a sudden it just stays at the downloading game settings screen for about 6 seconds then tells me i must be signed into the playstation network to play multiplayer. i tried deleting the 12mb file on my hd and reinstalled it but still get the same screen. i tried changing my ip address like that post said and made everything in the settings custom. but then i get a dns error and it will not sign into the network. this sucks man i wanna play cod4 so bad.

Ohhh I see, that'd probably be the reason why - because you are trying to use it at college. They're most likely blocking it.

Go and speak to the IT technician.

cod4 works on my roommates 360 though and every other game plays on my ps3. i just connected and played the home beta and had no problems at all...

has anyone else experienced problems similar to mine? please any help would be greatly appreciated i just wanna play some cod4
