Icon9 Playing online with the same internet connection

I don't know if anyone can help, but I've tried pretty much everything already on the forums about this issue and nothing seems to work.

Both me and my brother have a ps3, but the house only has one internet connection so we both are going through the same router and the same conenction. We can play seperate online games at the same time, but we cannot play with each other - if I invite him or he invites me then we get the unable to connect to host error.

The router is a netgear WGR614 v4 and one ps3 is set up as DMZ and the other has had various ports forwarded, everytime the ps3's connect to the internet and play online fine until we try to invite each other, and the invitee will get the error.

Has anyone else had issues with this? And more importantly does anyone know a solution?

Thanks

Maybe it's just too much strain for the router try a stronger router. I'm not 100% sure though.

So you've assigned both PS3s different IP addresses right? If not, then they won't be able to connect using the same IP.

Each PS3 has its own IP address, but when the connection gets to the modem they are 'funneled' into one.

Have you opened the ports on your router?

Also, check to see if both PS3s are running on the same NAT Type.

Yes both ps3s have got different static IP addresses.

I have set up ports in port forwarding on my router for one ps3, but the second I have set up as DMZ as you can't use the same ports for 2 different IPs as you get a conflict.

Both ps3s are running on NAT 2

I had the same problem last night. We could only have about four people on when signed in to PSN, but the rest had the "unable to connect to host" error. I think if you have a stock wireless router/modem in one it cant handle it when you are on line. I could be wrong but we went and bought a really nice router, hooked it into the modem so the modem was handling the internet connection and the router was handling the ps3 transactions it seemed to work much better.
