Default i need help!

so i just got xbox live with the card from gamestation and im doing it wireless BUT the xbox networking adapter i think doesnt work for me cos when i go to network settings then edit them the 3rd one down is translucent and i cant select it, and my networking adapter is red on the light do you know how to get it to pick up a signal?!!

Did you enable you PC to allow another machine to pick up signal from the thingy?
