I have been having problems with my PS3 I have turned no my console with the controller. Its says I have to connect the usb then says push the PS button to try to restart it. And if it doesnt work ill have to redownload everything. I also always leave it on standby. Is that the problem or should I turn on the PS3 with my finger(im lazy)?

yes good suggestion smoke..and i'm lazy to i dont get up and w8 10 seconds for the ps3 to turn of i use my ps3 controller (ps button)

So turning on or off the PS3 with the controller can lead to problems? The 360 doesn't seem to have that issue, that is weird.

I turn my PS3 off with my controller as well. Never had a problem yet. Knock on wood. Can you try to be a little more clear and provide a little more detail as to the exact problem you are having. As well as the exact error message.

Yeah we need a bit more info. The only time it'll ask you to connect your USB cable is when you first buy your PS3 and have to assign the controller, or when the controller is going flat.
