Unhappy PB not enabled

This issue is killing me and i could sure use some help. My rig is a few years old but runs COD great...or did.

Vista 64 – Home Premium
AMD FX60
3gig RAM
8800
X-FI

I lost my drive and needed to rebuild. After i reinstalled (Steam) i received the message PB not enabled when i open COD4 MP. If i enable in COD 4 i get booted from an MP game in seconds. If i run the PB test everything says good. The services are running (A and B). The only odd thing is i can not select the game when in set up. I can point it to the .exe but there are no games in the game list. The drop-down is blank. I deleted everything and reinstalled. No joy. I did some research on Steam and was directed to the COD4 site. I figured i would reach out here before looking elsewhere. It worked before. The only thing i can think of left to try is that PB might need to run as admin? I went to the PB web site and moved the new HTML into the COD4 PB HTML folder...no joy. Hoping someone has an ideas. I love the game. I can jump in and get a fix without dedicating an afternoon which is key at my age.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thanks,
