Hey everyone. First of all, yes, I'm new to the game, second of all, yes, I'm female, but I don't think that's part of the problem - unless the game hates women? The issue I'm having is I just downloaded a couple of patches to help 'fix' some of the gaming issues I'd been having. In the process, the server(s) where you can join games on-line went bye bye (or decided to make a mass exodus into the cyberworld). Is there any way I can get them back? Thanks in advance for your patience and ANY advice.:grin:

Oh could you tell what you are playing on (PC, PS3, XBOX) and what you mean with the server where you can join games.

Hiya right back at ya! I guess I should have put that in my original post eh? My only excuse is that I'm a newbie <lol>. I'm using a pc to play on-line. I've been trying (emphasis on the word 'trying') to get back on but have had no real luck. Before the servers decided to vacate, I was experiencing an error message 'Awaiting Key Code Authorization'. I have a LEGAL, LEGITIMATE copy of the game (I flinch everytime I think of the $49.99 plus tax, shipping and handling I paid to get it off of Amazon.com), so I was a bit puzzled when the message came up. I tried resetting my router, updating my punkbuster, downloading the patches all the way up to 1.7, uninstalling the whole game program, then re-installing everything. I'm at a loss as to what to do. Any help/advice/guidance from you or anyone out there in the forums would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to get back on and play, but am in no real hurry because I totally suck at it right now (always getting my behind blown off before I can even orient my fingers on the keyboard after spawning in God-knows-where on the map - totally humilating especially when you get taken out by someone with a knife). In any case, sorry for the long post. Have a GREAT day!

Don't mind the "awaiting keycode authorisation" message, I get it too sometimes. Can be that sometimes the server owners put a password on the server so that only certain players can join the game. If it isn't needed, you should be getting in even when it sais awaiting keycode.

For the servers vacating the place, try looking in the server filter, what settings are put on on or off.
Ie; If your only looking for servers with a password or only non dedicated servers, then you won't be able to find alot.

I sometimes too can't find any servers, even my favos are gone then. Then I need to shut down the game and restart it.

Can you tell me if it shows some servers or if it shows nothing?

Hi there! I really appreciate your replies back. I don't know what happened, but this morning before heading off to work (I owe, I owe, so off to work I go), after dejectedly staring at a screen with no game servers to join, I got the bright idea to hit the 'Refresh List' button. Imagine my surprise and delight (I about peed myself - sorry about being crass here, but that's how surprised I was) when the screen started populating with servers available to play/join. Of course, I jumped into the fray for one quick game before heading off to the slave pits and didn't mind one bit that I 'died' 27 times and got zero kills. I was just happy to get on-line. I don't know what happened. Maybe the server gods decided to take pity on me, but I'm baaack! Thanks again for your replies - they were much appreciated. It was beginning to feel lonely out there - you know, crickets in the background kind of thing.

Hungarian Badass: Maybe you upset the Server Gods too <lol>? What I did was uninstall my game, updated all the patches, reset my router, and prayed for a connection (I use a pc). I'm not sure if all the steps I took (excluding the prayer part) did the trick, but after the 4th day of no connection, I inadvertently hit the 'Refresh List' button and all the servers came back (yaay!). Before you do all that, if you've been playing for a while, you might want to somehow backup your profile - if that's even possible. I lost mine during the whole process - not that I minded (I only made it to Corporal), my stats totally sucked and I think I'm up for the 'Most Killed By A Knife Due to Standing Still Like An Idiot' award for the year. Hope this rant helped in some way and didn't confuse you much.

7even: Hey there! Thanks again for the replies, believe it or not, they did help, and they were much appreciated. Now I'm back on-line, adding to someone else's stats because for the life of me, I can't seem to get used to the keypad to get my character to move around and I end up getting knifed or having my behind blown off <lol>. I especially 'love' those stun granades that freeze you as you helplessly watch your guy get mowed down because you lost temporary control. As for silencers and rifles, I'd be happy if I could keep my guy from running into granades or claymores (once I do get him running). I keep hitting the 'caps lock' instead of 'shift' key.

Oh, question, why do you wan't to move with keypad? Are you left handed? Otherwise it's much more easy to move with the left side of the keyboard, you know, zsqd to move, for qwertyboards i don't know the combination to move.

Just keep practising, you'll get better, oh add me on xfire if you have that. 6SadnesS6
