I have a problem with playing COD4 multiplayer online.
With the gameplay everything is fine. It's the XP (experience points)
that you get at the end of a game that I don't get!
When you end a game you get a summary the XP you have earned with the
the game and how much you need to get to the next rank.
By me it says -113760 constantly, and the bar is endless, to the end of the screen.
My XP doesn't add up. I noticed this since I installed the multiplayer
patches 1.2 or 1.3.
I installed 1.7 but still no luck.

Does anyone know this problem?

Maybe your "mpdata" file is corrupted after installing the patch.
Make a backup of that file (it's in your profile folder), reinstall COD 4, and copy it into the profile folder again (you have to create a profile with the same name as before).
If that doesn't solve the problem, you might have to start over again by deleting your profile and creating a new one.

I have one question. By re-installing COD4, will I lose all my experience I gain before my mpdata got corrupted?
ANd how about the mission. I've completed those, would I have to start over again, eventhough I make a profile with the same name?

Just make a backup of your complete profile folder and you are able to keep your singleplayer progress. If the mpdata is deleted or you can't get it to work again, you will lose your achievements and experience points.
After you have reinstalled the game, copy the backup of your profile folder into the correct place and look if it works again.

I made a back of of my profile folder.
I uninstalled COD4 and restart my pc.
Then I reinstalled COD4.
I opened COD4 and it ask me to make an account, But I didn't copu the back up yet.
So I made a dummy account.
Then I exited COD4, copy the back up profile folder and started COD4 again.
It asked which profile I wanted to load, the dummy or my original one.
I tried my original one and all my data was there, achievements and experiens points in
multiplayer.
But unfortunately, I keep getting the wierd -113760 XP requierd and I don't gain xp
after a online multiplayer game.

I appreciate your help, but do you know anything else that might cause the problem?
When I tried the multiplayer after reinstalling, I didn't install any patches.
Can I somehoe safe my singelplayer achievements but start over in multiplayer?
It's not something I want to do, but If I can safe my singelplayer data, it's less of a problem.

Too bad it didn't work because that's the only solution I can think of.
Your mpdata seems to be not recoverable, so it's best to delete that file, I'm afraid. It's in and is called "mpdata" without a file extension.
After deleting it and starting the game, you will have lost your multiplayer progress, but you'll keep your completed singleplayer missions since they are in the folder called "save".

Is it then a good idea to not install patches at all?
Or only get them from a secure site or known source?
