I recently obtained a Razer Diamondback 3G, and although the mouse itself is rather awesome CoD4 doesn't seem to detect the side buttons nor the middle mouse button.

I've tested it in other games and they all worked aside from one game which didn't register the side buttons. Therefore it doesn't seem to be the mouse that's the problem.

I'm honestly not sure what to do...

Ok first off, I got the razer Lachesis.

I don't know if you have something like this, but it came with software to make multiple mouse profiles. Ie. I got a profile for COD4 and one for Lost planet: Extreme cond.
Depending on what I start it autoswitches between the profiles.

If you have this software, be sure to look what the mousebuttons are used for in this little program. If they are set to change profiles or do windows stuff then the gaming won't work, you have to reset them to the right option.


If you don't have this, go to your mouse setup in your control panel or config screen for windows. There set the buttons you want to use to "gaming toggle" and try to change it then in cod4 options.

Kay never mind, I figured it out...sort of. As soon as I turned off "run program as an administrator" it suddenly recognizes all of the buttons...which is odd to say the least.
