Missing names on custom classes xbox

My friend just got his xbox and the names of his custom classes disappear everytime he shuts down. The gun set up stays the same only the names are blank. He went into single player and saved his game to see if that was the problem. Its still doing it and I can't figure it out. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
