Ill play a few matches, some of them sometimes being my best, and afer the match, it will say" Error: Server connection timed out". A few seconds after this message, the screen will bring me back to the screen where i pick the type of match( team deathcatch, free-for-all, etc.), and say" you must have an active network connection to play online or systemlink matches". This has happened to me many times, causing me to lose many lvls and lose tons of amounts of exp, kill streaks, and kills. If anyone has a fix for this problem( in as great detail as you can explain it, which would be nice), please post immediatly.

By the way, this is Xbox 360 cod4, not PS3 or computer.

You'll probably need to check your internet connection - methinks it's not fast enough. You can go check your Xbox LIVE connection via the 360 Dashboard and it'll give you more info.
