Well iv had some problems to logg in

Firstly someone told me to Download Xfire and play Private servers
is that the same one most of you play?

well anyway when i log in it gives me error's saying server is down i dont think its down cause iv tryed every server on the list -.-

could anyone help me

You don't "have" to have xfire to find decent servers, try looking on gametracker.

Exactly what problems do you get when you try and join a server from the ingame browser?

Well i join and it says

Awaiting connection...

After about 11 seconds of waiting it says Error Server connection Timed out

and yeah threw xfire is the only way i know how to connect.

Did that someone also tell you to download the game from the internet? Then follow these steps:

1. Buy the game
2. Patch it to v1.7
3. Play it on non-private servers

If you have already purchased the game, you only need to follow steps 2 and 3.
Additionally, you could check if you opened the correct port in your router/firewall (default 28960).

Dont know computers that well.

Under PortForward.com - Routers and PortForward.com - Firewalls you can look up your router and firewall model and how to open the required ports for a certain game.
Then try to play on non-private servers again.
