Can i stop being a host?

Hi all.
I'm new to MW2 online gaming and i am totaly loving it! BUT i have been getting abuse in game from some more experienced gamers saying that i should leave the game as i am the host and causing it to lag.
the insults range from i have a c##p PC to i have dial up broadband! which i dont! oh and that i am apparently gay for playing ilke this:!:
so i would like to know how i can either be a better host or if i can turn off hosting games? also how do i know that i am the host?
sorry for what may be a simple question!
the insults don't bother me but i dont want to be spoiling other users game with lag.

Turning your nat to strict will stop you hosting or you could just tell them to swivel, but honestly i wouldnt worry about it its not your problem

Sadly, there is nothing you can do. This is a problem that IW has to fix.

I love being host. It gives me a slight drop on people. I think. I swear i can feel the difference

I lag alot when i host,but anyone else seems fine.

I was playing against some uk guys the other night and had yellow bars, but I seemed to still get the best part of the connection. I was not lagging what so ever so being the host is not all what its cut out to be.

You can get out of hosting on the PC by going to steam and changing your name.
