Most people think it is a piece of crap perk that does nothing!

here is a story that clears that up (its 1 of many times that it has saved my life)

So im playing crash and there is a 50 caliber sniper on the 3rd story and he is just raining bullets onto my team and there is also a shotgunner and claymores on all the stairwells (except the outside 1) so when he reloads and backs off i rush up there and hop on the ladder and start climbing. OH CRAP HIS BARREL IS STICKING OUT OVER THE LADDER! IM FOUND! but no he couldn't hear me b/c of dead silence (if i wouldn't have had it he could hear me from a mile away you know the pleasant CLANK CLANK CLANK it gives off haha very helpful to all you ghosts out there) so i just sit there and wait for him to reload and when i hear him reloading i quickly climb up there and kill him. i was actually lucky b/c he was looking right at me and wasn't reloading, but he didn't hear me and didn't realize that i was an enemy. so after i kill him i go downstairs kill the shotgunners blowup the claymores and bam we own the 3 story.

I've heard alot of gents saying that Dead Silence is a wasted perk also, I could not disagree more....... hers's a thought for who thinks it is a waste.....

Use it on SnD...... I run this set up for most maps:

-Stopping Power
-Dead Silence
Fragx1/Flashx1

I find this really effective because most of the time I am one of the last ones alive to complete the mission, the dead silence perk allows you to approach whomever is left undetected(provided the don't have a UAV up). You can flank them quicker by giving you the ability to run and walk(otherwise your trying to crouch to make less noise), it allows you to take a longer route to the bomb....... meaning, you don't have to go the obvious route, the one that the enemy is most likely camping out, waiting for you to come strolling into their sites.
And if Hardcore SnD is your cup of tea, just swap out Stopping Power for UAV Jammer and your all set to be a Ghost. Kill on Killer!!

Seriously, take my and Johnson's advice and give it a try.... I think you will pleasantly suprised on how good this Perk really is..........

I use it all the time. Great for S&D. Does not matter what weapon you have on s 'n d but as long you can hear them walk around and get around them you can shoot them in the back or at an angle remember not to crouch unless you are hiding behind something.. trust me this works most of the time dnt use it for big games tho, completely pointless.

SnD and ghosting is whats its best at. Great for deathmatch too. kinda a waste without UAV jammer in deathmatch though.

Very underrated perk...

its not useless but it is not that amazing if you dont want to be heard then kneel down and walk in your ladder situation if you go slow up ladder he would not have killed you in S&D you move slow anyway so just kneel no one will hear you

but it is an underrated perk as is extreme conditioning

its ok but a lot beter perks on slot 3

so i know you 2 aren't stealth fanatics or you wouldn't say that. obviously you guys run and gun which isn't what dead silence is for and i agree extreme condish is awesome too

Dead silence is one of my favorite perks, today i was playing HC, and i spawned(just happen to be right next to a .50 Cal sniper) and walked a few steps and hear the "Boom" of the sniper being shot. I went to see where it came from, and i crouched and looked around, and found the guy right next to my foot, obviously not hearing or seeing me. I quickly stabbed him, but yeah, it saved me from being spawn killed XD

I agree with people who say it is a good perk it really helps in search and destroy...ALOT. I have many stories were it helps but im not going to go in to that right now. BUT IT HAS SAVED MY LIFE MANY TIMES. But it is a waste if you use it on like team deathmatch (when you are not sniping or being sneaky) or something like that were you dont need it.
