tried your config, no firewall and ports forwarded in both router and modem...
Stil cant connect.
When I try to search for it in the main list I get no servers at all and when I connect to my IP through the console I get server connection timed out
What now?

EDIT: I can connect, but my Xfire says that the server host doesn't answer and my friends cant connect.
When Im on the server it says dedicated is listen server, but the console outside of the game says that its dedicated internett server :S

Hi again, ports 28960 are required to be forwarded to the server and 20500-20999 are forwarded to your pc... and is it still set to dedicated 1, just so i know where we are.

Have you tried this yet?
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare Server Audit Tool
Could you post the results of the above here please...

btw, is this a fresh install or still working from the same one as before?

Could try the Net_port and Net_IP commands into the server console and post the results, if it doesn't list the correct ip and port there could you add the IP and Port in the appropriate places in the config file and re-test, then try using the variables below, for this if you like you can create another shortcut...

"path\iw3mp.exe" +set dedicated 1 +set sv_punkbuster 1 +exec server.cfg +map_rotate

Im off out now, so hopefully some of the above will help us narrow down where the problem lies, will be back on later...

Cheers!!

Ok I will try what you say
I've made a discovery (:P) If I start a server from ingame and run your config I can join, but nobody else (because the IP is not set). If I start a server with the extra commands in the shortcut I can not join...

So Im thinking IF I start it from ingame and set my IP in teh console will this work? If this may work I need the command to restart the whole server not just the map (map_restart)

1. result: The audit tool cannot find my server :S
The ports 20500-20999 aren't forwarded. the ones I have forwarded are 28960, 20800 and 20810... All three for both UDP and TCP...
Ive got a Belkin router and a Speedtouch 510i modem... How do I forward multiple ports in one there then? OR do I have to forward one at the time?

Hi,

If you specify the lan IP address and port in the server.cfg, and leave both out of the shortcut... then startup the server and run these two commands from the server console...

net_ip
net_port

In Regards to the Port forwarding issue:
In short no, normally you should not need to enter a those IP's one at a time, instead you would enter a "range" of IP addresses...

In regards to the results of the tool i gave you to run, if its not seeing your server its either being blocked by the router as it isn't being forwarded or that the server is blocking it via firewall or that the server isn't using the correct ports... I would guess that it is at this stage a router/port issue.

Have you installed a firewall on the server?

Im just looking for a decent manual so i can give you instructions on how to enter a "range" of ip addresses. Could you tell me which ports are forwarded to what, just so i know we are on the same page.

(1. Is your server on a static IP address on your lan?
(2. Is your pc on a static IP address?
(3. Could you go Start > Run and enter CMD... then type "IPCONFIG /all" no quotes.

Do this for both server and your pc and post that here.
Cheers!!
