Hey there feel like such an idiot got my server.cfg all setup fine, server working fine dedicated and connectable via the net. I cannot get the logging to file to work at all. Running this in my server.cfg.

// Log Settings
set g_logsync "3" // 0=no log, 1=buffered, 2=continuous, 3=append
set logfile "1" // 0 = NO log, 1 = log file enabled
set g_log "games_mp.log" // Name of log file, default is games_mp.log
set sv_log_damage "1"


Tried playing about with them but no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Also should it be logging to my Main folder?

I use

// Log Settings
set g_logsync "1"
set logfile "1"
set g_log "lan.log"
set sv_log_damage "1"

and it works just fine. The logfile called "lan.log" is located in the main folder.

hmmm weird I'll try changing logsync to 1 and seeing what happens.

Ok still no joy. By the way I'm running a linux server. Checked permissions too and still no joy. Pulling my hair out here.

Anyone shed any light on this?

Sorted incase anyone has the same problem, within linux cod4 creates another working directory called .callofduty4.

Gonna try change the base working path.
