problem with a COD4 server: code_post_gfx_mp.ff

After installing a COD4 linux server, players that try to get into it gets the following error:

Code:

code_post_gfx_mp.ff is different from the server

what cause this? (i installed in the server all the patches, 1.1, 1.2,1.3,1.4,1.5,1.6,1.7...
and still not working... please help

I had the same issue on a dedicated Linux server patched to 1.7.

I resolved my issue by copying files from my windows game installation (patched to 1.7) to the /zone folder on my Linux box..

To further elaborate I copied all files from "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\zone\english" (76 files) to both the "english" and "german" folders under "/home/cod4/server_01/zone/" on my Linux server.

Obviously your folders may differ from mine, but you will still have the "zone" folder in your cod4 server directory.

I only advise copying the files to both the "english" and "german" folder on your server because at first I only copied the files to my cod4 servers enlish folder and I still had the issue.

Remember to chown all files you copy and don't forget to chmod 755, it worked for me.
