This is probably a stupid question but....
I work for an intagration company and my boss has given me the go ahead to run some game servers on a few of our servers. My question is, do I need to purchase an additional game to run a dedicated server or can i just run the server from the disc I use at home to play with?
Also can anyone give me recommend server specs for running between a 34 to 42 man server. We have a T1 here and the server will be running on that

Default Server Config help

Thanks millions for any help that may be given. So heres my issues =)
What I would like to do is run a server thats strictly team death match. I also want to be able to set the score and time limit higher than standard cod4 if possible. I would like to be able to set the max clients higher than 32 enable password for private games and turn pb on and off for private matches. I would like to b able to rotate the maps as well but I dont know how to add them to the config. So far the highest I have been able to get the server score to is 5000 and I haven't been able to turn pb off for when the server is hosting private matches with my friends. Here is the server config I have (I apoligise if this makes the post a bit long).

seta sv_punkbuster 0
wait
pb_sv_disable

// Server name
set sv_hostname "What The ???" //Change this to whatever you want your server to be named in the server browser

//================================================== =============================
// Public Information - OPTIONAL
//================================================== =============================
sets _Admin "name"
sets _Email "blahblah@blahblah.com"
sets _Website "my very cool website.com"
sets _Location "Dallas - USA"
set scr_motd "A MOTD HERE

// Server password
set g_password "" // blank means NO password

// Rconpassword
set rcon_password "IthinkIforgotThePassword" // Change this to your rcon password!

// Maximum Clients
set sv_maxclients "32"
set sv_privateclients "6"

// Max Ping
set sv_maxping "250"

// Rate
set sv_maxRate "25000"

//set Game Type
set g_gametype "war"
scr_war_scorelimit "50000"
scr_war_timelimit "60"<<<<<<<<<Im ok with the time limit set here

// Map_rotation
set sv_mapRotation "gametype war map mp_shipment"
set sv_maprotationcurrent ""

So that's what i have and I would like to keep it pretty much as basic as it is with the exception of the issues mentioned above. Thanks again for any help the may come and I apoligise if this is posted in the wrong area just wasnt sure if it was or not

@sil3ntlotus -

I put my server.cfg in the 'main' directory... there are plenty of places to download basic server configs... and I'm sure you'll be editing and tweaking your own soon
I wouldnt worry about the dvar errors/warnings.... i have them to and my server runs ok..
Are you using 2 pc's? 1 for the server....?
try getting a friend to connect..?
Double check your shortcut & ip section in config..

cant think of anything else... good luck
