Post Linux help needed - Putty launch commands?

Hi all, im having some trouble getting my server to work in linux.

Linux is totaly new to me so I am now at a point where I am totaly stuck. I have been advised to use winscp & putty to transfer the files and launch the server.

I have uploaded all the files and folders, placed them within a cod4 folder, I have placed my server config file in the "main" directory. all I need now is some help launching the server its self.

If poss could someone please take a few mins to explain to me the comands/syntax needed to launch the server and how to use a custom server config?

Thanks

Endless

I'm pretty sure you can't have a server on Linux, excuse me if I'm wrong.
Silly Putty.

Thanks for the reply. On that note I have seen posts in the forums on linux server installs and I doenloaded the 1.7 linux server files but none of the guides make sense to me as I am not linux literate.

I really could do with a nub guide of some sort. Any ideas?
