well sickboy there is four onto one sayin stopping power is essential for one shot kill. your using standard scope so you have time to aim up sounds like your miles away from anyone then you can line up headshots. an ive tried a sniper without stopping power (m40 acog) an it takes 2 bullets on nearly everyone so i think your talking crap
In case you did not know you have 100 health in normal mode games. As you can see all 5 sniper rifles deal 70 damage per shot before other factors are taken into account. That means (drum roll please) that if you get a head shot, which has a 1.5 times damage multiplier, you will deal 105 points of damage and unless they have juggernaut you will kill them. If they have Juggernaut you will deal 78.75 points of damage so a quick shot in the toe will finish them off.
Based on that information, which is taken directly from the games installation files, it would appear as though all four of you are unfortunately mistaken. I'll say it one more time. Sniping takes practice, a lot of practice.
FYI - All snipers are one shot kills to the head and neck unless they have Juggernaut on. That is why I said to practice and always go for headshots. As a sniper you should not be aiming for the torso or chest. I always aim for the head and never shoot through walls. So what you are saying is that because you can't aim and are afraid that the other person will have Juggernaut, you use Stopping Power? Then don't be upset when I pop up out of the grass and knife you because you are on radar and I'm not.
In the end it's your own personal preference.
That maybe so, but ingame I don't have the time to always aim for the head, I run around with the sniperrifle, I wan't to kill people ingame, not make perfect shots all the time. I can aim very well, but I go for the torso because it's a bigger surface, more chance to get them with a quick shot. I cant' risk to not kill them with a single shot when most people are running around with an assault or smg.
In the heat off the fight you will fire trough walls even tho you don't have deep impact on.
I don't use stopping power because it's an effective perk for me, not because I'm afraid. UAV Jammer isn't something that benefits me, I'm constantly on the move, so you can see me on your radar, but by te time you get where my dot was, I'm long gone from that position.

But yes, it's everyones own preference.
I don't know if you have ever used the M14 or not but it would seem that it would be more suited to the type of playing style you describe. M14 is my favorite gun. I use the RDS but you seem to favor the ACOG which actually has the little known benefit of reducing the recoil by 75% when hip firing. The M14 is also the most powerful assault rifle in the game. It is the only one that can one shot kill if you equip Stopping Power and it has the same head and neck damage multipliers as the M40. Just a thought.

I do use the M14, with stopping power and silencer. However, i favor the M40, normal scope. There's a reason why i rush the M40 with its standard scope. It increases game difficulty. I like a challenge, plus you don't see alot off people running around with that on small maps.
Don't know, it's just me.
Acog is good, no matter what people say about it. It's fast and accurate if you can handle it.
I've been asked on many occasions why I don't use the G3 or M14 after playing on smaller maps with the M40. I just like the weapon, like some people like the P90 or the M4 or...
But on this weapon and especcially in FFA games i need the stopping power because off my playstyle.
For me, stopping power on sniper rifles is essential (in regular mode). First of all, my hands aren't steady (lol), so I have trouble getting headshots sometimes on moving targets so I prefer to shoot in the torso which gets a kill 95% of the time. Also, with stopping power, I can kill juggernauts in one shot (head, neck, chest). The lack of overkill in this case doesn't bother me at all as I always pick up someone else's weapons. UAV jammer would be nice, but I can't sacrifice stopping power. In hardcore, UAV jammer is a must for snipers.

I use Sleight off hand in hc on the M40. Don't need the UAV because like I said, I'm moving constantly. A UAV will give away my estimated position, but it won't pinpoint me on the map. I'll take those chances.

Like we've all said it's your own personal preference. When I first started playing I would never create a class without Stopping Power. Now I only use it on the M14. I even snipe sometimes with the M21 and have no problem getting one shot kills without it. When I did finally decide to give UAV Jammer a try 2 things happened. The first and most important is my sniping skills got 10 times better over night because I knew I now I really only had one chance to take them down. When I'm sniping I will not take the shot unless i am aiming atraight for there forehead.
The second bonus is I began to realise just how stupid most of the people who play this game are. When I know the other team has no idea where I am and I just keep picking them off, relocating, and picking them off again I just can't get enough. Even those of us who don't suck at this game map where we are headed based on the red dots on our radar. When you take that away from the people who do suck you begin to witness people doing some really dumb crap.

Hahaah, I don't need UAV Jammer to see people do dumb crap.
