Yep, had that happening, on Chinatown, where the Mounted gun is overlooking the street. Rounded the corner, see a guy comming from behind the car, take a quickscopeshot, kill the guy, split second later, Dead by tube from that guy.

I had that happen to me once, just as you described it. Mine happened on crossfire. I laughed
