What the hell is lag switch?

I've been recently accused of using a lag switch. WTF is that? My retort was to "up your game and quit complaining that you suck!" Then they go on and say they're going to report me! Well, I'm pretty sure nothings gonna happen, but I still would like to know what's a lag-switch. Anybody?

I am not totally sure, but I think it's a switch that cheaters use to automatically lag everyone so it's effortless for him to kill people.

A lag switch is something that people usually make themselves, and it goes in between the broadband line (Ethernet cable). If it's made properly, they can lag for anywhere between 3-30 seconds. If it's made poorly, it'll disconnect them from PSN/XBL every time they flick the switch. When someone uses a lag switch, they appear to be frozen while in fact they are still able to play locally and gain advantages over the other players in the game. Also, only the host of the game can use a lag switch.

Lag switches are pretty rare on consoles, and only retards use them. I'm yet to come across one on PSN but if I do I'll just leave the game.

Everytime i lag i get angry and threaten to report hosts because im so frustrated. I never do though lol
