To answer your question, the game mode that gives you the most XP points is Search and Destroy. Next would be Team Deathmatch, and then Headquarters. Headquarters on Shipment is a really good way to get XP fast.

EDIT: Search and Destroy isn't for new players though, it's quite hard. Headquarters would be more suitable for you, try it and you'll see what I mean (providing you've unlocked it).

No worries.

You should rack up heaps of points in an HQ match. You get the normal match bonus + you get 5 points every few seconds while your team is in possession of the HQ + you get 20 points for capturing the HQ + you get your normal 5 points per kill. All of that = a huge XP total at the end of the game.

Also a good way to get points on any game mode is to use different weapons to complete the Marksmen Challenges for them. After 150 kills (total) on any weapon you'll get 1000 points, you get 500 points for 75 kills, etc. So after you've completed the Marksmen Challenges for one gun, move onto the next one.

Do that and you'll be at Level 55 10th Prestige in no time.

If that's what you prefer then that's fine, although it is good to get experience with other weapons. You might find one that you like better than your normal weapon. Same thing goes with the game modes, try and play each game mode as you unlock it. I didn't play HQ for the first few months of owning COD4, when I finally did I was kicking myself for not trying it earlier.

no effense but how is TDM better than HQ? u just sed that TDM is better for points then u say that Hq is great for racking up points?

Not sure if you meant is SS, but you don't get 250 + 5 points every few seconds on HQ (if you win)... The 5 points is every 5 seconds and accumilates to the 250. Any additional points you get over that is for kills. Then you get a match bonus on top, and that can vary depending on your level. Low ranks will only get around 50 points, 50 and over ranks can get up to 450.

Headquarters definitely gets you most points or Search and destroy if you are really really good.
