Does this AK-47 bug exist on Xbox360? Sorry, that's the first time I hear this. It does seem a lot weaker than naked Ak47 or with RDS.
My vote goes to either P90 (although you said you ruled out the SMGs; IMO you can still get some medium-long range shots with it) and M4.
If M4 had better iron sights, I would totally use it with UAV jammer and silencer. Some people do like those iron sights.
Smg's ruled out?... I have to disagree and will add for the note that combined with extreme conditioning make a sick flanking class. I charge enemy positions and come up behind groups or even surprise opponents entering doorways.
All of which can not be easily done with an AsR without the help of steady aim perk, thus a waste of a perk because it is mostly good for non CQC guns only. Therefor dedicating your perks to your weapons weaknesses and taking away from those such as extreme conditioning and any other more useful perk.
As far as the 2 specific Smg's i want to mention: I would not rule out the mp5,as i have taken out snipers,AsR users and Lmg users long range with its precision long distance spray. Not easily with an Smg but possible. There is little recoil, and if focused decently this gun can make up for its lack of pwr. P90 is a little sloppy for long range but i would not rule it out either due to its barrage-like ROF in CQC and its Pwr.
On to AsR's for stealth, i can agree on alot of aspects why they would be good. AsR's while stealth such as AK47 and M4 are great with thier pwr for quick in and out kills. One major reason they would be bad on the other hand is if you are stealth you are trying to flank the enemy and get in close correct??. In that case without combining steady aim u will be inferior to those whom have an smg. If u are going to kill from med-long range while flanking the silencers take away some range and therefor somewhat hinder that option.
As far as AsR's themselves, the 2 i mentioned AK47 and M4. AK is great, however the bug encountered when adding silencer decreases the power. Topped with the recoil of the weapon itself and having to use iron sights on top of that somewhat take away from quick kills if shooting from afar. Furthermore i cannot imagine UAV jammer in place of using stopping pwr with this bug hindering the gun. With silencer attached if u want to get a quick kill and fall back or evade, u mine as well go with an Smg, which is designed for exactly that...
M4 i will only mention it lacks some power and iron sights are not great. Other than that i think it is a precise weapon when combined with silencer and a good all around stealth if u wanna go AsR.
These are my opinions and perspective that have brought me success when trying to stealth. As i hate to get seeked out on the radar every 2-3 kills and quite honestly i believe stealth is the only way to go. Feel free to agree or disagree with anything i mentioned, constructive discussion/criticism is the best way for seeking fact based information.
P.S. Yes piz the AK47 bug exists on 360, that is where i first started to experience it.

Thanks for clearing that up. I really like the iron sights of AK47, but the silencer really does make it a lot weaker. I tried using AK47 with silencer and UAV jammer on maps like Overgrown and Creek and I got smoked in close quarters even though I started shooting before the enemy did.
MP5 or P90 seem like perfect weapons for stealth. You can still snipe with MP5 given that the iron sights are good and the recoil is little. I just wish M4 had better iron sights.
If your playing Hardcore, then the ak47 bug doesn't matter, but in regular, the damage decrease is too much for me. i'd much rather use the g36c, mp5, or p90. they don't need stopping power. if you're good at flanking, then you don't really need range.
Even with the damage bug, the damage of the AK-47 is better than all the other automatic weapons. Regarding the range issue, I mentioned in my original write up that even with a stealth class you cannot always get in close. Good teams are normally looking for the flanker and many times you are forced to engage them from further off than you would like. That is why the range issue factored into my decision. When coupled with the range reduction imposed by the silencer attachment, the Assault Rifles will always be better.
To be clear, I am not saying that SMGs can't be used in a stealth class. But in my research to find the best overall silenced weapon the evidence pointed to the AK-47. Personal preference will dictate whether you care about the evidence or not.
I'd love to use the AK-47 but I just suck at it. I prefer Mp5. I would love to use the m4, but to bad it does no damage w/o stopping power

The M14 is good, because of the high damage anyway

Then again, so is a Skorpion with a ACOG...
