Is it just me in thinking that if you need these you shouldn't be a sniper. I see myself as a very good sniper but I refuse to use iron lungs instead of deep impact or steady aim. Tbh if you have your head sticking out long enough to use an entire breath with iron lungs you will probably get killed by a sniper yourself.

I feel partial about your decision. I use Iron Lungs and it's simply to maintain that extra umph of breath. For I may hold it, my target moves around instantly and instead of trying to take the shot I prefer knowing my bullet will connect with him. I hold my breath till he settles down. I guess I could always let go of the breath button, however, I don't.. and I use Iron Lungs when I sniper. I tend to hold my breath before people are seen though every now and then also..

Yer I just find it strange that people are willing to cheat themselves out of a third perk when you can be just as good if not better without Iron Luns

The problem with letting go of the breath button is that if you've been holding your breath for a while, and you let go, it'll move your scope all over the place and make it nearly impossible to hit the person. This will give the enemy 3-5 seconds to either shoot you or get away. So I think it's just safer to have Iron Lungs anyways. I wouldn't use Steady Aim with a sniper unless I was just messing around and getting no scopes. The thing about deep impact is, if you hit them before they get behind a wall, you don't need deep impact...
Some snipers (such as the R700) require accurate breath-holding. If you're hasty with the first shot, trust me, you're not going to pull a good second shot.

If you are using steady aim (that increases hip accuracy, not through a scope) i would re think seeing yourself as a very good sniper.........
OP, I would have to disagree with you. I use the r700 with the Iron Lungs and I love it. Anything that improves your chances of getting a kill is not bad. It sounds that you get owned when sniping.

Both of you guys have very good points. I always use iron lungs for the reason that Ryan does
I would have to disagree on having iron lungs is a bad thing. I think its good bcuz some snipers might need more time to get the perfect shot. When someone is running, i need to wait for the shot, i dont try to shoot and hopefully it hits him bcuz of the less air i have
