Okay i mighta overexaggerated a bit, becuz im sure there are people on here that hav successfully dun it w/o blowing up. But chances are u wont be able to do it 98% of the time.
50% of the time. I see it like this.

If you're going to die since it's cooked anyway, why not pick it up and spare the lives of those around you. Which is the approach I do in HQ while we are capturing it and such. Also, you never know when it's cooked or not, on XBL I got my 'Hot Potatoe' challenge done pretty fast, 'random nades' are the ones that are usually not cooked, thats where you get lucky. I enjoy trying to throw them back, especially when I'm in an area that has no room to run for cover. You're basically toast anyway ya know?

Ive managed to do this once (and only once). Problem is when your still carrying one of your own grenades you tend to throw yours rather than throw theirs back. I agree with the others................just leggit!

Make sure that not just the grenade indicator is up when you try to throw it back, or you will throw your own grenade. Make sure it actually says "Hit R2 to throw back" or whatever button it is on your console controller.

I've ran into situations, where my teammates and myself are holding headquarters, and I picked up a grenade to throw it back and I was the only one that died in the vicinity.

If you're in a confined area, and you are 99% going to die anyway, you might aswell pick that nade up and attempt to throw it back...who knows, it could work out in your favour.
