As you know, when you're killed in Call of Duty 4 you see a quote of some sort on the screen. I was wondering if there was some way to disable them.

Maybe that's the only way -- to play hardcore. I am not aware of the way to disable them.

No, I only play hardcore, and you still get the quotes...

There's probably a few lines in a cfg somewhere that you can edit out, you'll probably still get the player neames popping up though... I did it on Rainbow Six Vegas changed all the ingame text to things that my perverse and immature sense of humour found more ammusing...

No, actually I was referring to the quotes that appear when you die in single player and not multiplayer. Sorry for any confusion.

Lol its a clan tag dude, they cant be disabled.

EDIT: Oh why would you want to take them out they inform you on things, I dont think they can be deleted.

Ahah... This one I know... The easiest (and only) way I know of of disabling the stupid single player death phrases, is this:

Step 1: Don't Die...
Step 2: Kill the enemy before they kill you...
Step 3: Don't get shot...
Step 4: Try to avoid playing hot potato if you can avoid it, shoot the smegheads before they throw the damn nade at you...

Seriously though, there'll probably be a file somewhere where you can edit all the text out, or change it to whatever you want... You'll probably need a hex editor, but you might be able to do it with notepad...
