I just got the game for pc and I got it on steam. Only problem is that steam doesn't give you a box with a key code on it, and my game doesn't have a key code. I can play single player just fine, but when I sselect a server on multiplayer, it shows

I don't know what to do. Right now, im redownloading it, but it will take a while.
Anyone else have this problem/know how to fix it?

Go to Start > Run > Regedit > HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > Software > Activision > Call of duty 4

Right Click "codkey" and click Modify and enter the code IN CAPS WITH OUT SPACES into the Value Data space and make sure you confirm that it is correct and enter it in.....

If ya wont a pc code go on the official website, join, click on multiplayer beta is live, scroll down, look for link saying your profile page, should be there, write it down, go back to previous page, click on a link like file shack or something, download it, load it up, enter code, happy gaming!

If ya wont it 4 360 its on new arrivals. Hope this helps

Aw, claudeandmaddie you got him totally confused.
Can't you see he just wants to play cod4.

I think you should start with contacting Steam customer support.
That code you got in your mailbox, have you tried it allready? Maybe they were out off normal ones. idk

Let's see what the redownload does for you. Maybe that works out. But do come back, we'll help you out.


EDIT: I was looking around for a solution, turns out that most things I found mention a mail from Steam with the key included. SO try the code that you received, that should be the code.
Also try this, open steam, go to your gamelist, rightclick on COD4 and click properties, might be in there the keycode.
