I was playing COD 4 servers and I notice a few servers have the client console enabled on their server info page. This leads me to beleive that people can hack with cvar commands on that particular server and I do notice alot of strange things especially with the helicopters and targeting individuals. Having the client console enabled allows people to manipulate the game while in progress without an admin or password. Anyone who can open up the console may have access to may bugs/exploits through the CVAR codes. The idea that anyone can access the console for their gain disturbs me and makes me wonder why anyone would host a public server with an open client console...any ideas??...please share.

How do you think admins actually deal with problems on a public server?
Open console, log in to rcon, sort the problem.
If console wasn't enabled admins would be forced to minimise out of the game and launch some 3rd party software then go about dealing with the issue, talk about long winded.
And fyi all the cvar exploits that devs had left enabled were fixed with the 1.7 patch.
You cannot make Heli's target individuals, IT WILL target those who have the best chance of taking it down, i.e anyone with RPG.

you dont have to eneable CLIENT console in order to use RCON or even thirdparty software.. Admins can access console by logging through remote pc or even thirdparty software if they set their server that way. Many servers have admins that can access the console without enebling it. And fyi the choppers dont always go for the one capable of downing it..it can also go after top score players. without RPG/GRenade Launchers as well... it seems ridiuclious when a chopper can kill you 10-15 times in one game..sometimes ONE chopper can kill you 3 times.. I mean that litterally and it has happen to myself and friends also.

Punkbuster is what hinders the use of exploits/hacks not disabling console.
