Question Can my computer run it?

I don't know if this would be the right forum but it says PC so I'll go with it.

- Processor: AMD® Athlon™ X2 5800+ 3.0GHz Dual Core 2 x 1MB L2 Cache
- P2 Chassis with AlienIce™ 3.0 Video Cooling - Space Black
- High-Performance Liquid Cooling
- 750 Watt Multi-GPU Approved Power Supply
- Single 512MB NVIDIA® GeForce® 9800 GT
- 4GB Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM at 800MHz - 4 x 1024M
- Alienware® AMD® 790FX Motherboard; Includes PCI-Express 2.0, BIOS Overclocking Utility, and Support for AMD Phenom Quad-Core Processors
- Windows Vista® Ultimate with Service Pack 1 – DirectX 10 Ready
- Single Drive Configuration - 250GB SATA 3Gb/s 7,200RPM 16MB Cache
- Single Drive Configuration - 20X Dual-Layer Burner (DVD±RW)
- Killer K1 Gaming Network Interface Card
- Creative Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ XtremeGamer High Definition 7.1 Audio

Probably payed more than I needed to for it, but I'm happy and I got what I wanted and believe will last me for quite a while.
But the question ahead of us would be does it run new generation games such as Call of Duty 4?

Tell me what you think.

Can you run it? @ systemrequirementslab.com
Generally yes, I'd say, but not at the highest quality settings and resolutions.

Oh yes, Alienware PCs are overpriced. If I build my next PC myself, it will cost 700 euros. From Alienware, it would cost 1400 euros.
It would be nice if you told us the price for your PC!

Keeps your PC cool and quiet. I hope it didn't cost too much extra.

Hopefully 64bit, else you can't use all of your RAM.

Too bad you wasted about 210 dollars (I don't know exactly how much it costs at Alienware) for this absolutely useless card. Please try to get your money back!

Still wondering what I could have got for that much.

People still buy dellware - sorry ETware?

*chuckles*

You've got a pretty good rig there... Not worth what you paid for it though... If you'd spent your cash on components and built it yourself you'd have a better one...

The killer network cards are a rip off, and completely pointless in modern PC's... They are a good idea if you're running a pentium or 2, or some other old POS, but modern computers tend to have decent network interfaces anyway...

Your CPU's going to be the biggest bottle neck in that system...

So my processor isn't that great? That blows. Is it some-what good?
I don't REALLY want a massive gaming computer. this is just a update for future gaming. but the one I have now is totaly crap with it's 2.0 ghz AMD processor and a 128mb ATI Readon x150 or something and 1 gig of ram.
Probably got screwed over but I, in general don't really know how to build a computer, at the same time I need to upgrade for the future.
I know, I look n00b buying "Dellware" but the rig isn't to bad, paying more or not.

How long do you think this comp will last untill I need to upgrade again?
And are Alienware's upgradable? (Meaning you can buy the crap online and upgrade it such as a video card?) That would save me in near future and save my money.

The CPU's not bad... Although as I said earlier, it's probably the biggest bottle neck in your system. I've got the 5600+ (2.8GHz dual core) and it runs most things pretty well... I've got mine clocked faster than yours though at 3.14Ghz...

Future upgrade: AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core 9950 2.60GHz Black Edition (Socket AM2) - Retail
That's the CPU I want, but it means building a whole new system as foxconn don't release bios updates... bastards...

Don't use the heatsink and fan that come with it though... get some arctic silver, put a dab on the CPU (you can easily find instructions on how to do this properly) and connect it to your liquid cooling kit, or get a huge heatsink and fan assembly...
