Ok , first of all , i'd like to clarify that i bought the game LEGALLY , from a gaming store. Incase people dismiss my problem. And that i was able to play COD4 , untill it got uninstalled.
My problem is : Whenever i try to install COD4 , my computer refuses to open up the COD4 installation menu , but the disk is still clean and has almost no scratches. And when i try to open it manually , the disk drives indicate : NOTHING!@#$%^&*. However , when i run other disks , they work fine , but my COD4 disk refuses to be dected by my disk drive.

Try cleaning the disk with one of those diskcleaners.
Try deleting every part of COD 4 you can find, in the programmanager, All folders you can mannually find, well everything.
Then try opening the install again manually.
If this all fails, try contacting IW or Activision for a new copy.
Hope this helps
Can you copy the files off the disk to your harddisk?
Do you have enough space on your hdd?
When did you last do some housekeeping? (anti-virus/spy/adbot as well as defrag, scandisk etc...)
What security software are you using? Try disabling your AV before you install.
Use regedit to wipe any trace of the game out of your system, reboot and try to install again.

My cheap/old dvd drive won't read COD4 either. I had to install it using my friends laptop and sharing his drive on the network. Sometimes my drive works, sometimes it doesn't.
What brand drive is it? You could try and see if the manufacturer's website has a firmware update or try blowing some canned air in it but its probably time to get a new dvd drive. Samsungs seem pretty good.
To play COD4 u need at least an 6x speed dvd drive.I had that prob with some EA games(that require high-speed drives). The only solution is getting the required drive.
Yea , thanks for the advice , but the problem is , my drive is compatible with most games , like Halo , Halo 2 Vista , Battlefield 2. They all work fine , although COD4 seems to be the only game which had problems reinstalling. But right now , i only keep my Online profiles for COD4. I really want to keep them , so i think that rules out the option of wiping all programs clean. Plus , ive cleaned my disk and my drive still refuses to detect the disk. Its a DVD R/RW compatible drive so , it works.
Eh , if i get it reinstalled ( If i ever , wasted 65 bucks on this game , i really want to play it.) ill never ever uninstall it. Can anyone give me advice on transferring the program to the harddrive? Im not that tech savvy. Kkthanksbai.
