Losing key packets would indicate a connectiopn/firewall issue. As for the "something=2" problem, that could be a system/graphics setting that's not allowed on that server. For instance, a lot of servers will kick you if you have textures set to low/normal. Either set textures to high/extra, or leave it on automatic...

Hi!i gonna ask a stupid question but i really need help...i recently bought cod 4 and played on the sigle player a while...now when i try to play MP after 20secs 1 time it dcs and says "RESTRICTION:Service Communications Faliure:PnkBstrB.exe handshaking failed
and the other time it says "losing key packets" but the first one is more often and i can't play so please help me!!!

this problem started happening after i downloaded the file from topic "fps tips"or something like that before that i could play but i had low fps so now i wanted higher fps but i can't play!!

You need a higher video card, the mb does help, but you need ATLEAST a Nvidia Geforce 7800, or like an ATI Radeon pro 4600+ or somethin like that. You can buy a good graphics card for about 150.

I'm having a very annoying problem with stuttering with this punkbuster CRAP, sorry for the term.

Every server with punkbuster enabled I got annoying STUTTERS everytime a new map starts, for like 40, 50 seconds. Then, it stops then I can play my game smoothly. Sometimes, in the middle of the map time, happens again for like 20 seconds. Then, it smooths again until another map begins.

I read a lot of people around the net, that had exatly the same issue, however nobody seen to have a solution. I tried pb_slepp 500, but that didn't work. (in fact, it was already set to 500). Everything is updated, tried auto update, manual, tried every means possible to try to solve this. Any help appreciated, its really IRRITATING, specially when you DIE right on the moment of the stutter.

On non-pb servers nothing of this happens.

Im having the same exact problem as FarCry!

I stopped playing MW because of this. I cant stand it anymore.

Is so annoying, and gets me really pissed of. I got a nice rig and these ****ing useless punkbuster shi*T keeps hiccuping and stuterring every map start for almost 2 minutes, and 30 seconds a few times during game.

The most infuriating thing is that the f*cking evenbalance or IW don't know anything to solve this.

Ive' been fighting PUNKBUSTER all day.
I have the pbsvc.exe and I have uninstalled and reinstalled PB several times.
I have the pbsetup.exe from the website.
I have located my game in its folder and I have updated it to 1.7 and the PB has been updated with it.

In my Services and in my Process, PnkBstrA.exe is running.
PnkBstrB.exe likes to screw with me and work when it wants to.
However when it DOES work and show up in the 2 windows, It still boots me with the PunkBuster-B.exe Driver Failure error.

So let me get this out the way before I continue.

PUNKBUSTER IS THE BIGGEST PIECE OF $%(I*#(.....I HATE THIS MOTH($#%*($*)($%) PROGRAM....!!!!

I would say more but I am to frustrated right now.

After reading more posts on these forums, I took suggestions and tried them.
For example.
I saw the thread to Uninstall PB from the Add/Remove Programs menu and so I did. I restarted as instructed and check my services to see if they were running. They were not. I ran the pbsvc.exe again and installed PB once again. This time, PB had installed BOTH PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe and they both passed the test. I go into a game that has PB enabled and it still booted me out of the game with the PnkBstrB.exe Driver Failure.

Everything is UP TO DATE.
SERVICES ARE RUNNING.
PUNKBUSTER IS STILL #&@*#&*@*&!!!!!!!

**After 1st Post**
I took a small break away from the computer to calm down and eat some delisioso McDonalds.
I am full of yummy good foodage and am in a calmer state.
I decided to look at my processes only to reveal that my PnkBstrB.exe is no longer in the list, also it does not show up in my services anymore.
A small hint or clue?
